It has 3 controls to it. The lease coldest still ices up at the top. And yeah, it's inconvenient to move. things around. I wish you it had a self defrost. Or I wish I'd got one or, found one instead..

Hello Bee, we appreciate your feedback and would like to apologize for your recent experience with the Frigidaire 6.5 Cu. ft. Upright Freezer, Platinum Silver. We pride ourselves on our high-quality standards and regret that our product did not live up to your expectations.
It sounds like your door is slightly out of adjustment. Here's a tutorial how to diagnose and resolve the issue:
How to Reduce & Resolve Frost Buildup in Upright Freezers, Refrigerator and Freezer Compartments of Refrigerators.
Frost occurs when moisture in ambient air touches the cold evaporator coils, metal shelves and interior sides of a freezer or refrigerator.
Steps you can take to reduce frost build up:
Move your hand around the outside of the freezer/refrigerator door. If you feel cold air, then the door is not sealing adequately.
You can adjust the door by loosening the top hinge to reposition/adjust the freezer door to create a tight seal.
Adjust the front levelling feet of your unit such that the front of the unit is slightly higher than the rear. Gravity will assist the door to close with a proper seal.
TIP: Close the door on a dollar bill (or similar). The dollar bill should not easily pull out - there should be some resistance. Perform the “Dollar Bill Test” on the top, sides, bottom of your freezer door, and adjust accordingly.
Do not over fill your freezer to prevent food items from shifting and preventing the freezer door from closing properly.
Place only cool or cold food items in your refrigerator or freezer. Hot foods introduce humidity into the food storage compartment, which contributes to frost build up. Allow hot foods to cool before placing them in the refrigerator or freezer.
Wrap foods tightly with plastic wrap. Butcher paper is not an adequate wrapping material. Glass container lids typically do not provide a proper seal.
Dry the exterior of food before storing. By the time you reach home after purchasing frozen foods, the food items may have defrosted a bit and moisture may have already developed on packaging.
Reduce the amount of time the door remains open. Labelling and organizing your foods so you can easily identify them will help shorten the number and duration of freezer trips.
Set the freezer temperature so the freezers interior compartment stays around 0F (-18C), as higher and lower temperature settings contribute to frost build up.
Door Seal Care:
Keep the door seal clean. You can clean your door seal with a solution of one tsp of baking soda to a quart of lukewarm water. Pour the solution onto a clean sponge, and wipe it over the seal. Sponge off the solution with clear water and dry the seal with a clean cloth before closing the freezer door.
Keep the door seal flexible by lubricating it with some petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline). Wipe it on and wipe it off with a clean dry cloth.

Great price for a great freezer. Great value.

Very well priced accessory freezer. Items do not get 'lost in the bottom' as used to with my top loading freezer. Keeps good frozen temperature very well (monitored via external thermostat).

Baby Freezer!

This thing is little as heck. Comes in a box that looks mich bigger. Got this for my aunt as a gift since hers went out, and let me tell you this is a baby freezer. Wouldn't recommend for someone looking to store large amounts of food.

YOU CAN'T TAKE THE SHELFS OUT. IT OVER FREEZES. BOTTOM SHELF IS USELESS. WISH I HADN'T BOUGHT THIS, BECAUSE I FOUND ANOTHE FREEZER SAME PRICE AT COSCO AND YOU CAN TAKE THE SHELFS OUT AND MAKE BIGGER SPACE FOR MEATS.

It has quite a bit of room for a compact freezer. It's much better than a chest freezer. Being an upright, you can see everything. It keeps a very cold temperature. It also looks good in stainless steel. I love it!

Great value, quality product z

This is a great freezer for a single person or small family. It has five shelves with plenty of space to store your goods. It is to be noted that the shelves are not adjustable, but provide ample space.

Hello Erika, we are glad to hear you are enjoying your Frigidaire 6.5 Cu. ft. Upright Freezer, Platinum Silver. The shelves are not adjustable as the evaporator coils are affixed to the underside of the shelves for cooling efficiency. This is a standard design for manual defrost upright freezers.

Freezes

works as expected. a little smaller than I thought. However, it is more usable than the large chest freezer that we had. We don't have to worry about finding food at the bottom that expired two years ago.

Don’t fall for it like I did (twice)…it makes sense why it’s priced the way it is…they are all scratch and dent models. Gave up and went to Lowe’s and bought one I could see that didn’t have scratches or dents.

I really liked the appearance and the value was a great price. I don't care for the inside much. It seems to get frost on the shelves quickly and constantly needs cleaned off

perfect size. i bought the upright for ease of use since I'm older and don't like standing on my head to get things out of freezer. Nice finish and very well protected for transport.
