As with any seed product, Scotts Turf Builder EZ Seed requires both continuous moisture and warm soil temperatures. When one of these conditions is missing, poor germination is the result. Be sure to spread the Turf Builder EZ Seed evenly over the prepared area. Turf Builder EZ Seed should be sparsely applied to the depth of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick. If Turf Builder EZ Seed has been applied too thickly, germination will be poor. Also, make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used where you are seeding, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination of the seed.
