I have owned three of these vacuum cleaners. Each one has lasted about 6 months. The belt broke within a week of my most recently purchased one. I have 2 dogs with fairly long fur. While the vacuum picks up pretty well, a design flaw allows hair to get trapped near the belt mechanism. This causes the vacuum to overheat and the belt to melt. Even though I am vigilant about keeping the vacuum clean, inevitably hair gets trapped and the belt breaks. I will look for a different brand from now on. Very disappointing.

I bought this for my daughter's college apartment that has 4 people in it since their other vacuum was not picking up hair and dirt that well. They were amazed on how much it picks up each time they vacuum and they like to keep their apartment clean. They are so happy!

Normally I purchased Hoover brand vacuum but since my recent Hoover burned up after a couple of years, I decided to give the Bissell a try. I'm pleased with the suction power after a month of daily vacuuming. I have a German Shedder so a vacuum cleaner must've pretty good to keep up. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver so I would recommend it!

Love it so far. After calling Bissell to locate my “missing part” - customer service was super nice - I put my vacuum together in 5 minutes and immediately used it. I have all hard floors - tile, laminate and vinyl and it worked great on them, getting all the little bits of dust, etc that the broom misses. I also love how all the extras fit right on the vacuum, the cord is inside the vacuum so no need to wrap it. Finally, I didn't think I'd like that I can see all the dirt it picks up, but turns out, I do. I was surprised how much dirt I picked up when I had swept the day before (I have 2 dogs).

Pros-Good suction so far, long hose, swivel head, retractable cord. Cons-Can't shut off head when using hose, wand is way to short . I'm only 5'6 and couldn't stand and reach the floor with wand and edger attached. Definitely can't reach ceilings. Apparently, you can't use other extension wands to make it longer unless they are off another bissell- they aren't a "universal" wand. There are 2 paint marks on the cord to tell you when you're towards the end.

We're in love with these vacuums. Pet/No Pet the vacuums really are the same. The pet version has more accessories than ever and a spot to put them all right on the machine. We just upgraded after using a less expensive model to clean after a remodel. It still has function out in the garage and tackled the drywall dust/popcorn better than the husband's shopvac. You still have to "chomp" down on pet food but it doesn't fly out the back anymore. Those washable filters make all the difference in the world and I'll take one less cord to rewind everytime.

Used it the first time on floor that was already "clean" from other vacuum. Shocked at how much dirt appeared in the see-thru chamber. Didn't realize my old vacuum sucked so bad (pun intended). Love everything about this. It's cost-effective and really versatile with all of the add-on parts.

This is the best vacuum we have ever used. It is POWERFUL, lightweight and easy to use. Our upstairs carpet is very old and this brought some life back into it. Can't believe how much dirt and cat hairs it sucked up. Only suggestion is a longer hose to use with the stair tool as the one it has is only able to reach one stair OR you can have a helper

I am blown away with how powerful this vacuum is. After purchasing I vacuumed with my old vacuum and then vacuumed immediately after with this powerhouse. I was amazed at how much dirt and fur it picked up! I would give this vacuum more than 5 stars except for two things. The chord is difficult when you try to get it to retract and when emptying the canister it makes a mess so make sure you have it inside of something before emptying.

Does a super job cleaning all my carpets due to my cats
