Not one to write reviews but read several during my research of this mattresses and took them with a grain of salt. We have owned the original Tempur Pedic mattress (the one that came without different softness levels. You just ordered it by which size you wanted and I guess they just cut a slab of material). We had that mattress for years and after breaking it in from its rock hard state it became quite comfortable. As the years pasted (at least 15) I began to have problems with my shoulders as I sleep on my side. Finally decided to purchase a new mattress. My wife did not want to replace the one we had even though it was long over due as she said it was fine for her. We both had concerns that we may end up with an expensive mattress that was uncomfortable but my lack of sleep pushed me forward. I was about to purchase one of the existing Tempur mattress when a friend of mine told me wait a few weeks as they were releasing a new line. The Tempur Lux-Adapt. He said "Its a whole new animal". Taking his word i waited the 3-4 more weeks (guessed he should know as he was a manager at one of the local mattress stores) and said he tried them out at some show. When the beds arrived at our local furniture (didnt purchase the bed from my friend, sorry buddy) store they had the Lux-Adapt in firm and medium. Since our old Tempur mattress was firm and that was also what the Mrs liked I purchased that in a king size along with the Ergo-Extend base. Let me tell you the reviews were right. This mattress is prefect. I'll repeat what I read in other reviews that we really cant wait to get into bed. Its that comfortable. The Lux-Adapt in firm has just the right amout of compression. You conform to about 3-4 inches is my best guess and then you dont continue to sink further. I am six feet tall and weigh 175 pounds and my wife is small and weighs about 100-105 pounds. The bed is comfortable for both of us. she loves it and I constantly remind her that it was my idea! I am getting great REM sleep again after years of tossing and turning due to shoulder discomfort. Fantastic! The only down side some may find is that it sleeps a little warmer that our original tempur pedic. Probably due to the fact that it comforms better. The only other complaint I have is that I bought a second remote for the Ergo-Extend base only to find out you can only use one programmed remote at a time. This is something that needs to be resolved. A bed at this price point and size you should not have to be crawling to the other side to get the remote out from the bedside caddy. We have two TV remotes on each side of the bed just for this reason. Guess its some liability issue the attorneys told them about. Dont want the Mrs to ask you to get something from under the bed that she dropped only to have her lower it down on you! LOL. Seriously this is a software issue and can surely be fixed. Doing so will make the base more easily usable. Not everyone gets in bed at the same time and dont want to have to hunt for remotes. All and all only minor complaints. Literally loving the bed and the great comfortable sleep we're getting. So glad we made the change and glad I took my friends advice and waited for these new mattresses to arrive. If you are considering a memory foam mattress you have to try out a Tempur Pedic, yes they are costly but they last. Considering how much good night's sleep worth and the length of time we spend in bed annually it can be money well spent.

I had pain in my shoulders and hips and my husband in his lower back. After just 2 days on our Tempurpedic, we are pain free. I didn't believe the reviews but it is absolutely true. It has changed the way we start our day and what a blessing that is! Don't wait!

Overall I love this bed. It does seem that I have to be near the middle to not get the feeling I may slide out ( it's a split king. When you raise the head you slide down and you feet dangle over the end ( I'm 5'4). Some kind of pull out at the foot would be nice. Not one backache- the adjustability can make it perfect for your body. Be careful of the pillows : the ones we bought in the store are soft and pliable, the perfect pillow. The ones we got with the online deal with purchase were supposed to be the same but are three times as thick and hard as a rock- must weigh 5 lbs. we called the store and the person that helped us with our bed purchase, went out of her way to see we got two of the ones we love. The split is a mixed blessing. It's wonderful to adjust each side like you want but it opens a crack in the middle and things ( including our small dog) have fallen through. I'd still take it over a bed with one adjustment all the across. No need for a topper on this bed like we had for our cloud lux. This was comfy from day one, doesn't sleep hot either. Almost the perfect bed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a nurse who works overnight and is on his feet for 12+ hours every shift. Trying to fall asleep after work is always hard for me. I should say was hard for me, because this mattress has changed my entire life/sleep routine with how comfortable it is. I now have no problem falling asleep, thanks to Zero Gravity mode. There's nothing bad about this mattress.

We had a Tempurpedic mattress for 15 years that we loved. However, it was a firm model with no plush topper built in. As we age (we're in our 70s), our bodies are less forgiving. So when we decided to get a new Tempurpedic, we opted for this model. We had slept several nights in this model as guests, so we were confident we would like it. It is pricey, but when we think of the time we will use it, and the comfort it delivers, it is definitely worth the investment.

This has been a great bed so far. I used to have some hip and shoulder pain and that has gone away after sleeping on this bed. Getting rid of the pain is exactly what I had hoped for. It does sleep a little warmer than my old bed, but that hasn't been an issue at this point. It wasn't too warm when the weather was warmer and now that it is getting colder, I don't mind a little extra warmth. It will be interesting to see how it is in the heat of the summer next year. The bed is nice and soft, which is what I was looking for. It took me a couple of weeks to adjust to it, but it has definitely improved my sleep quality.

I've been struggling with a neck and shoulders issue + TMJ, where everything tenses up badly. I've gone through several different types of beds ( serta firm, air mattress etc ) This is the first mattress that has truly helped relax my stiff muscles rather than exacerbating the situation further. It hasn't cured me of course, but it's gone a long way in alleviating my symptoms. Actual good night's rest of neck and shoulders has made a huge difference. I am on the lighter side ( 115 lb ) so I think the soft is perfect for me. Shipping was frustratingly longer than anticipated, and the delivery men did not know how to actually set up the bed base ( so now I need to wait for additional service people to come out...- also frustratingly slow) but in the meantime I've slept on the mattress, and thus far it has been well worth the wait for the product. It has been so comfortable in fact, that I barely find myself moving once settled. It's made sleeping on my back easier ( a necessary adjustment I've had to make ) , but is also soft enough for rare times I side sleep.

We bought our first tempur-pedic over 16 years ago. We decided to get another newer model with an adjustable base this time. We have the older one your grandson. The adjustable base is heaven and so is the mattress. My wife and I are both in our mid 50's and we love the comfort, support and rest we get with Tempur-pedic mattress. It does take 30 to 45 days to break it in. I know that sounds crazy but it is true. Give yourself at least that long to break it in and then you to will be dreaming all night long. Happy sleeping!

After owning a different brand for many years and giving a trial to two different brands and finding them to be called soft but not living up to the name, we went back to Tempur-Pedic (we had one over ten years ago) and found the relaxed, pain free sleep we have been missing.
