Customer reviews for OFFLINE: Bose Solo Soundbar Series II - 845194-1100 forTerrible Product
Product does not have an HDMI ARC input, so I cannot control through my TV remote control accepted limited fashion through Bluetooth. This means I must use the separate remote to turn on the soundbar every time I turn on the tv. The battery on their remote control died after only 15 days. If I haven't thrown away the box the first day inadvertently, I would have returned it by now.

Meh
Bought this soundbar to go with a new TV we purchased. I had a few issues with this device. The main one being that it would not come on/go off with the TV remote. The TV remote would turn the volume up and down, but the sound bar had to be turned on with its own remote. I searched for a solution and the only thing I found was that it would work if it were connected with an hdmi cable. This device doesn't have an hdmi port. (Seriously? It's 2023!) The other issue is that the sound isn't as good as what you would expect from Bose. This may be the bottom of their product line, but it's still a Bose. I returned it and hooked up our old Polk soundbar that still sounds great and is controlled with the TV remote.
Hi.Sorry to hear that you have to return the soundbar. Actually, the system can sync the power commands for your soundbar and other devices you have programmed your remote to control. To do this, here is the link to the steps. https://bose.life/3NCLZHA. To adjust the tone controls, the steps are on this page, https://bose.life/3Ng0n7p. Really great quality sound
I really love this soundbar. I wanted something clearer for my bedroom TV and it exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is wonderful. For TV it is clear, projects the sounds forward, and adds depth to movies and sports. But I found that as a bluetooth speaker for music, it is really good. I actually returned a one-piece Vizio sound bar because music sounded too harsh coming out of that one. The quality of sound from the Bose is much much better. Also, read the manual because you can adjust the bass using the remote from low to med to med-high to high, so if it lacks bass at first just increase it. It is not a subwoofer but it has a full, warm sound when the bass is increased. I am very happy with this purchase.
BOSE LOVER DISAPPOINTED
I own several Bose products including the S1 pro, and the Companion Speakers with the sub just to name a few. this pains me to write this review because I love Bose but they dropped the ball on this one.I was looking for a slight upgrade in my bedroom.First of all this speaker is slightly better than most factory tv speakers. There are some better. Sounds great in the store but when you get it home is when reality hit you. Sound quality is a little above average. No Bass. Distortion when you increase the volume. Too expensive for what you get. Even with the Bose name this should sell for $50 max. I'm returning it today.Spend the money and get the S1 Pro for versatility and use it for TV , outdoors, parties, playing your instrument and karaoke you won't be disappointed.
Buy the Vizio V51-H6 soundbar instea of this Bose
I purchased this sound bar, because of the Bose name and was shocked at how flat & cheap the quality of sound was. I'm very tech savvy and adjusted all of the settings in an effort to maximize the sound. Even the store clerk at the store return desk said how horrible this sound bar sounds while I was returning this item for a refund. I ended up purchasing the Vizio V51-H6 sound bar system and am extremely surprised and satisfied with the performance & sound quality of my Vizio system - for the same price.

Great As a Gift To Mom
My mom always turns up the volume to her TV so much that I know the speakers will get blown out so I got her this and she's been happy with it ever since...no longer does she feel the need to turn it up so loud when all she wants to do are watch her shows and to be able to hear them and whenever she wants she can play music from her phone
Dead on arrival
From the box to connection, it takes 10 minutes tops. Troubleshooting why it won't turn on or respond to the remote - 1 hour. Remote IR lights up (they advise viewing through a camera because the naked eye can't see the light). Soundbar chirps when it is plugged in so it is getting power, however it does not respond. Checked wiring but there's only a power cord and optical cord so there isn't much to screw up there. Used their online troubleshooting instructions but ultimately the website instructs to send it back for repair. Absolutely not - Sam's can have it back and I'll pony up for one that actually works.

Average
Using this on a 3-year old 55 Samsung Smart TV. It really enhanced the dialog, but from the get go I was not happy with the sound, in the sense that it was not surround. I live in a carpeted apartment, so I hardly turn it up loud, and three months later it is crackling with the base portion. I connected my phone via Bluetooth to play Spotify and it does not sound like a stereo. I'm disappointed considering it's a Bose.

Bose quality sound as usual!
Finally can now hear dialogue without the annoying background music drowning it out. Wonderful! Further, we can use the Xfinity remote to control volume and power on the sound bar and not have to use the Bose remote except to put the bar in "dialogue" mode when we first set it up. Turned off the Vizio 60" TV internal speakers with Vizio menu settings using Vizio remote then enabled the Xfinity remote power/volume using the Xfinity my account app on my smartphone. Brilliant! Highly recommended!!!
