[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The BARKBATH Portable Dog Grooming & Bathing System is not an effective product that I would use for my home. It is very noisy, heavy, and painful to use. I've tried using it outside but its still inconvenient for me. The only positive trait about the BARKBATH is that it saves water when bathing my dog. Overall, this product deserves another look at the drawing board. 2/5 Stars.

Normally my little dog would be afraid of the loud vacuum like noise but she surprisingly done great with this, and for my large German Shepard who dislikes baths, this made his bath time so much easier and less time consuming!

The Barkbath unit is a great concept, however, it does not work as great as it could. The problem, to start with, is that the spray nozzles grooves for cleaning are longer than they should be, especially for smaller and shorter haired dogs. It almost feels as though when using you're going to injure the dog. Also, the entire nozzle piece leaks even if you haven't pulled the trigger to release water. Another issue is that even if you put hot water in the unit, the water comes out cold causing the dog to shiver. It would be nice if the unit would heat the water a bit and even if the sprayer had more and smaller sprayers, more like a spray bottle type of spray. I almost feel as though this unit should be returned.

Bathing them in the tub was such a mess and hurt my back terribly and this is such a good solution. If your dog is nervous of the vacuum, they will be nervous of this (both noise and suction).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three labs and this machine is amazing. My dogs do not mind the noise and enjoy the gentle massage of the nozzle. Easily cleans their fur and no mess or smell of wet dog for hours afterwards.

We have two dogs. One is a long hair (Golden Retriever/Australian Shepard mix) and a short hair (Weimaraner). This product works extremely well with both dogs and their unique needs. Large dogs (and they both ARE LARGE DOGS) are not easy to bathe in the tub. The mess is incredible and you pretty much have to reconcile the fact that YOU will be getting just as wet as the dog. Our mix is 13 years old and has to be lifted in and out of the tub. My back isn't what it used to be and it went out recently when I tried lifting her. The Barkbath takes care of that! We put down a mat and a few towels in our kitchen (laminate flooring), got the dogs to stand on them, and began bathing them (one at a time, of course!). Although the Weimaraner was frightened by the sound of the motor at first, she settled down eventually and we were able to quickly finish her. Our mix was in heaven and thought she was getting a spa treatment! Both dogs came out squeaky clean and my wife and I were dry! Preparation and clean up were both very easy with the enclosed instructions. Love this product! Thanks!

I have a 10yr old Chihuahua and a Shepard mix at just over a year old. The Chihuahua is tough as nails and required hardly anything to bathe her with the machine, the shep mix. Not so much. I left the unit fully assembled on my kitchen floor for two weeks to let them get to know it and smell it out. I brush my dogs regulary and that helped a lot. I started brushing them next to unit as soon as I set it up and after the second week. I just calmly reached down and picked up the attachment and after some crazy eyes directed at me. He allowed me to brush his bum and after a few minutes, I was able to gently brush all of him. I did this a few days and then turned the unit on and he associated it with the vacuum and was all skittish about the product and then I had an epiphany. I put the head, hose and shampoo/rinse unit out the doggy door and left unit in the house. With my wife using her feminine voice.(which should always be used with dealing with new, scared or excited dogs. Oh, I forgot. I am a Nationally Accredited, School trained Animal Control officer) we were able to get him on the porch and again, starting at his bum. I started stroking and releasing shampoo/water mix. And when that warm water started to flow. He calmed down. Not happy. But, calm. I knew then it was just a matter of time before he would enjoy it. Now, what I don't like is that there is no flea and tick shampoo. Somebody screwed the pooch on this one. I was able to suck most of the fleas off. But, even using drops aftewards did not eliminate the fleas as a flea bath always did. If I cannot get Bissell to come up with a formula. I will start trying non-foaming dip mixed with their shampoo. But, enjoy it as a great bathing tool and hope Bissell gets on the ball with a flea shampoo. Thanks, Trapper

With more than one dog, the local suds 'em yourself businesses are cost prohibitive. This is the product we've been waiting to find. So happy to have this. We use on rescue dogs (we foster for a local rescue) and our own dogs. The sound isn't too loud & dogs seem to adjust quickly to the vacuum noise. Minimal water on the floor. WE LOVE THIS MACHINE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical about this working on my very hairy golden retriever but, it worked like a charm. She was a bit damper at the end then I expected but dried quickly. She looks and smells wonderful. She is recovering from knee surgery and can't get in and out of our tub so the Barkbath was a life saver.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a work to set up! I was not expecting it to be so much work. It's a cool idea but it's hard if you have a smaller dog. I have a small Maltese so it didn't go very well. Some people say it's a quiet machine but it really isn't very quiet. It's a no for me. This is more for a medium to large dog that is VERY calm.
