So many perks come with the Plus membership!

Like another review, I was upset when they changed the free shipping with no minimum purchase to requiring a $50 purchase. However, I've now got a list of staples I always keep in stock (I named it "Shipping Stuff"), and when I need something I can always find enough preps (the shelf-stable food I always keep on hand) to make it up. I also love the discounts I get from having a Plus membership. The best one is a prescription that, using my insurance, the monthly cost is more than $250. With the Plus discount, it costs me $50 per month. The $110 I spend every year on this card is saving me more than $200 every month -- or more than$2,400 for every $110 I pay for the membership. I call that a huge win!

Honestly mostly great!

I'm seriously shaking my head at 1 star and 2 star reviews details. I easily call customer service any time there is any issue and its easy to get through and they kindly and quickly resolve any issues. Unless that person is trying to demand in store customer service desk handle an issue with online orders instead of calling the online customer service number, I cannot imagine how they could be having trouble. As for the complaint about resolving new policy complaints, they changed some things a year or two ago. They sent emails/mailings regarding the changes in advance. Your not going to be able to opt out of new policy. That's simple adulting. As for $8 shipping under $50 in shipping order, I just look to see what else I have that I could wait for til Ive got $50 to ship. its a non-issue. Honestly they probably reworked their deal with FedEx to save on cost. probably trying to keep free shipping an option at all with rising costs of everything. Summing it up, you cant please everybody, and some folks are rarely if ever satisfied with anything. Sams club is our primary store for almost everything. With autism its difficult to focus around a lot of people so online shopping is our savior. i can line it up right and my familys prescriptions even are brought out to me while Im picking up my grocery order. With the 2% back, my plus membership funds its own annual fee to keep it going and we often get a free cart of groceries annualy on top of that. Ive got an upcoming baby shower to attend and will be gifting a plus membership to the new mom. My only drawback is that when I pay for a membership to shop at a store, I dont think its okay to be hassled by high pressure sales people throughout the store that arent even affiliated with Sam's. When I find the time to come in and am looking for things, the last thing I want is someone in my face about new siding and windows. Its like 3D real life pop up adds and makes shopping in store very frustrating. As a paying member, its rude on the company's part to cash in on allowing those external sales organizations to clutter the aisles causing frustration for members trying to just get their groceries. Also a big part of my primarily shopping online.

Best gift

We LOVE these cards. I saw a couple of reviews that were negative but it’s apparent they do not know what these cards are. They think they are gift cards that they can spend. Not true. It’s a membership card with a lot of benefits. We give them to our son’s and their families every Christmas. They are very appreciative! I gave it 5 stars!

We've had our membership about a year now - we have no complaints whatsoever ! Even when facing a crowded checkout area - we've never have more than maybe 15 min and we're rolling out the front door!

Where has customer service gone?

I have had a Plus membership for many years and have enjoyed the benefit of free shipping and excellent communication from Sam's. Over the past year there has been a minimum order value for free shipping, no reduction in membership cost. Within the past few months I have not received email confirmation on my orders, or updates. I have tried to work with customer service for over a month, too no avail....some reps have very little command of the English language, some are very good. I have discussed this with many reps and 3 supervisors, all overseas and the problem still exists. Cannot access a US rep at all, I am sure the problem would be corrected! In addition I have not received Sam's cash( 95% of our shopping is on-line as we live over 2 hrs away. I am told this is only for in-store....Why is it shown in benefits "2% Sam's Cash: Earn 2% back on most in-club and online purchases, up to $500 annually, loaded onto your membership card." In 2025, did not receive anything. I am sure we have spent over $1000 since 1-1-25. Where do we find our total spent in account info? On-line customers are 2nd fiddle to in network same day deliveries, and those of us (remote) contribute to the city deliveries without any additional benefits ( sometime less as fewer items are becoming available for shipment to us that are remote. If your review all the benefits .......they bare directed to local customers. I joined Sam's for the convenience, but Sam is removing more of the convenience as the year progresses. My largest complaint, don't take advantage of the remote customers.
