Due to neck injuries, I have to be picky about pillows. Without something like a down pillow, which have become very expensive, I dont sleep well or and have a stiff neck in the morning. Down alternative pillows just dont work for me. So, I find a pillow that I think I will like and it turns out I dont, or else I do for a while but it flattens out and then I am on a continuous search again. When I saw these Fun Pillows in a bin in Wal-Mart, I squeezed one, and knew I had to try it out--even though $20 seemed like a lot. Oh my! This pillow is heaven! And it has so much resiliency that I doubt it will flatten out for a very, very long time. But it is a little bit thinner than I am used to, so I decided to buy a second one for some extra loft. At that time, I couldn't find them on Wal-Mart's website for the $20 price. Turns out the Wal-Mart in our town doesnt sell them, neither does the one 30 miles away. So, I drove the 40 miles back to the Walmart where I got the first one. Worth every mile and every penny! I love, love, love these pillows!
But the story doesnt end there. We have a very old mattress that is very uncomfortable, but it is not in our budget yet to get a new one. I had tried a couple of nice mattress toppers, which wore out and didnt do much for me in the first place (the memory foam didnt feel anything like the memory foam in these pillows.) But, after sleeping with my Fun Pillows, I had an epiphany. I headed back to the Wal-Mart 40 miles away (where a belt in my engine broke in the parking lot and stranded me until my husband got off work and came to rescue me about midnightbut I digress). At Wal-Mart, I bought a body pillow pillowcase, and two more Fun Pillows. When I finally got home, six hours later, I stuffed two pillows into the body pillow pillowcase. Now, I sleep on top of the body pillow with the other two pillows under my head. I realize a body pillow may not be wide enough for some people to sleep on, but it works for me. I have now been sleeping with them for about three weeks. I am getting the best sleep I have had in years and am so comfortable I dont even want to get up in the morning. I have also noticed I have less brain fog, which means I am finally getting deep sleep.
So, I feel it was worth two extra 80-mile round trips to Wal-Mart, plus getting stranded in the parking lot at night for six hours, four of which were at night, after closing time. Besides, the Wal-Mart night security guard lady who was so nice, the young man who took me to get a new belt and put in on for me, but couldnt get it to start, the several people who stopped and tried to jumpstart my car, the roadside assistance man who couldnt start it either, and my husband, who was clearly exasperated that I had driven all that way just to get pillows, but held his tongue (for the most part), all restored my faith in mankind. For a cost of about $90 for four pillows and a body pillowcase, I can wait to spend over a thousand dollars on a good mattress.
