Initially, we thought the bed wasn't going to be comfortable--it's so different from a normal mattress. It can feel board-stiff when you first plop down on it, but that is easy to adapt to because once you're settled in for sleep, it's seriously the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on. Those little annoyances in a regular mattress (like feeling like you're rolling into the middle when sleeping with your spouse, or the whole dang thing jiggles when she gets up at night) are 100% gone. If you can afford it, I highly, highly recommend. The one thing I don't like about it is that it can trap some serious heat. I sleep very hot, and even with the thermostat set to 64 F, I still sometimes wake up sweating. I should have bought the cooling mattress but it's more expensive.

When I first bought this mattress I didn't know what to think as I have never owned or slept on a Tempur-Pedic mattress before. Our previous mattress was over 11 years old and was an excellent mattress (Lady Americana). We loved it but of course at 11 years it wasn't as comfortable as before. My wife and I went to a local retailer and tested out multiple Temper-Pedic mattresses and decided on the Pro Adapt Hybrid (Queen) as I am 6'2 and 225 lbs. We also purchased an adjustable ERGO base. This has the Zero G function that relives a lot fo pressure from my wife's back as she has back pain due to an accident and major surgery. The first 3-4 months was not as comfortable as I thought it would be. The reason seems to be that the mattress was actually correcting my sleeping position and this caused my lower back to hurt for about 2-3 months intermittently. After that period I sleep like the dead on our mattress, LOL. I will say that sleeping on my back is a little tricky and this mattress doesn't quite support my lower back as much as my old mattress, but I fall asleep on my side and that does the trick. If you are looking for a mattress to sleep on your back and you are over 200lbs, I would recommend the Lux Adapt (Firm), if you can afford it. Its pretty pricey. I have only had the mattress for just under a year so this review is based on that time frame. So far, so good. I would like to give it a few more years and see how well it holds up. Overall it seems like a good purchase and if you can afford it, this mattress seems like a solid purchase, but only time will tell.

Hi Team, I wanted to see what the alternatives are since I have not been completely happy with my bed full transparency is I do have a back issue due to a random physical assault by a stranger and it is imperative to me and also my care team to find an overall great back support product. Can you help here ? Your part could be potentially harmful for my back so I'm hoping there is an alternative

We had tried standard box spring mattresses, Sleep Number, and a firm mattress with a pillow top. None were as adaptable and supportive to our contours as this Tempurpedic. We picked up the pillows when we purchased the mattress while waiting for mattress delivery, and they are a definite 10 as well.

I credit this to the lack of transfer of motion and the temperature control of this mattress. I never feel my husband getting in our out of the bed and neither of us sleep hot anymore. Best investment we've made for ourselves!

Is taking me a while to "break in" the mattress. I feel sad because after almost three months my mattress still doesn't feel soft and confortable. On the other hand, I was sick on bed for a week, and I never experienced back pain as I have before with other mattresses after being on bed for that long. Me está costando acostumbrarme al colchón. Me da pena porque después de casi tres meses, mi colchón todavía no se siente suave y cómodo. Excellent sleep on new mattress I've dealt with a lower back problem of herniated disks for years and had a tempurpedic 12 in mattress for about 17 years and noticed it needed replacing this new mattress is a firm and we both love the sleep we've had thanks for awesome product

This was the first time trying a tempur pedic mattress, so I was unsure about how my back would take to it, but it has been the best change. The mattress is firm enough to where you don't sink in, but soft enough to where it kind of molds to the body. It's amazing.

I have been using this bed for over a month now. I really love the flexibility it provides to raise on either side, particularly for my consistent reading habits. The firmness helps a lot more for my back support. Sleeping patterns have changed for betterment. In all a great gift for myself.
