[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered an extra plush mattress. I was assured what I ordered was very soft. If what I have is soft, the firm must be like sleet on a concrete pad. I sleep and wake up with my joints hurting and I toss and turn all night.

Our old one was memory foam and did not have enough support at all especially for my boyfriend who would wake up with back pain all the time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mattress is much thicker than my old firm Beautyrest mattress. Even though I ordered a soft, it isn't quite as soft as I'd have liked. The memory foam top lets me sink in but, I miss the bounce of the old mattress. But, the proof is in the sleeping and I don't have any of the aches and pains that my old mattress gave me. I do sleep much better on this S and F mattress, no doubt about it. I also like the handles built into this mattress, which my old one didn't have. Important note: this mattress is much thicker than my old and had to replace the old 9" foundation with a thinner 5" one, which I ordered from Stearns and Foster. The old foundation with new mattress had me way off the floor! The new foundation is better than the old one, in any case.

At first we opted for a hybrid bed in a box from a reputable firm but after six months had to switch back to Stearns and Foster. So far so good!

In our spare bedroom I had my older S&F Estate Mattress. I decided to test it and slept on this for 2 weeks to see if it would help. NO PAIN. As a result, I returned the new mattress and replaced with the Estate Firm Pillow Top. I'm about a month in and NO PAIN AT ALL. No hip pain, no lower back pain, I finally wake up without being sore. I will never purchase another brand. The quality just can't be matched.
