Great for emergency power

I am a 65 yo woman who needed son to do initial set up before Hurricane Irene. After that I was able to service my generator myself. It ran window air conditioner, tv, computer and refrigerator and some lights, I am very pleased and recommend this product.

Best " bang for the buck"

After researching and using other products, such as Honda. I could not help but know that my GP6500 is the best bang for the buck! I know the dependability of generac having owned one in the past ( used it as an enticement on sale of my previous home). This particular model will also give a surge of power when increase of load is needed . With proper maintenance there is no reason it should not last a very long time. Very comforting to know the dependability of the generac name. Living in Florida having dependable back up power is essential. Sleeping better knowing I now have it!

Solid construction and easy set up.

I spent the extra couple of bucks to get the electric start model for my wife. I'm in law enforcement and if I'm ever stuck at work during an emergency, I want it to be easy for her to set up and get things going. Right out of the box, set up was easy. Followed the directions and fired it up with the electric start. I let it run for a bit and it didn't seem any louder than any other generator that I've been around. Very happy with it.

Ease of setup and operation

After delivery, the Generac 7000 was easy to prepare for operation, easy to start ( electric start). Our house has transfer switches ( 6) and with our electrician we tested the system and the 7000 to make sure all was running in order. Everything was perfect the first time. I recommend having an electrician go over everything, especially with the built-in transfer switches. The peace of mind living here in Maine, that we can have heat, refrigeration, lights and some comforts is reassuring, especially if the power goes out. This will probably lead to the purchase and installation of a stand-by unit down the road. Thanks for building a safe, easy-to-operate, sensible power source in case of outages which can happen especially here in Maine. I like my comfort and this is real, real PEACE OF MIND.

Great Product

So I heard Generac has a great reputation for making reliable generators and even though I bought a portable generator, working in the propane business, their are many where I live that are buying the permanent home stand by propane powered generators and they are reliable and even though my is portable but used for home standby too, its what I want. I know it will do the job and keep us comfortable and our keep our food fresh while the power is out. I have yet to get my electrical panel up to code and a transfer switch installed on my house, but when I do I will be able to enjoy the full luxuries of having power without power :) Noise level though its just like a lawn mower or any other gas powered engine, pretty noisy, but again, your inside and its outside and so i can handle the noise.

GP15000E This generator and i have been through two hurracains

Just before August 9, 2004 – August 15, 2004 I acquired the GP15000E for construction work that i was doing at the time. some of my co workers said that for just for me using portable power it was way overkill but hey i'm just that way. So the overkill came in handy when Hurricane Charley arrived. Charley was brutal, killed power every where. Lucky for me, overkill and I had a lot of Power to run. I was lucky my neighbor was an electrician because i was just going to run fans and and a fridge. he happened to be around to help. In exchange for him hooking Overkill directly to my house"s breaker box so we can run the air conditioner I let him and his wife and his two little babies bunk with us which he really appreciated and so did i for his service. It was a hot for those four days that we went with out regular power but Overkill was a great investment. Not only that i went through with Charley but also moved to Texas just in time for Hurricane Ike in September 1, 2008 – September 15, 2008. Went three days with out regular power on that deal. There has been a few storms since then that my trusty Overkill has pulled me through some power outages. I would recommend for anybody to have a Generator of some sort but i recommend Generac because so far i have not had any problems with my Overkill, I"m glad i have that tool in my war chest. As a matter of fact a storm blew through Huntsville Texas yesterday 3/24/2017 that knocked down trees on the power lines that left me once again without power for about 10 hrs. Lucky for me i have Overkill here to save the day. well that my story , hope this helps you out with your decision on what power to buy

It is great!

Just bought this generator after much research on internet, different hardware stores, and electricians. The price is right and our local hardware took the time to gas it up, put in oil and give a demonstration in use. The noise level was certainly acceptable and less than expected after seeing some negative reviews elsewhere on the noise. The ease of portability, electric start as well as pull, and having not to buy wheel kit are extras. The unit started at first flipping of switch. Recommend it highly.

Very good quality and simple to use

Bought during a power outage and brought power back to my house very quickly. Assembly is simple and straightforward. Generator has started first pull and still starts very well with the included electric start. pushes a lot of power so nominal rating is not overrated. a bit noisy but I was amazed to see how little gas it used. Not the cheapest, but quality is top.

I have owned Generac generators and they are great!

I have owned Generac generators since 1999. Have had great service and reliability. I live in Florida and we deal with storms regularly. With my wife retired and a disabled grandson at home, I need a unit that will power the whole house. If I have to go to work during storm recovery, my wife only has to worry about putting gas in the generator to have comfort. It starts with a push of a button! This new 15000 watt machine arrived and works perfectly. I highly recommend Generac to everyone I know. This new unit is heavy, but the portability and price were great!

Excellent product!

Ran generator for approx. 50 hrs. straight, except for re-fueling, during Hurricane Irene. It provided reliable power and saved us quite a bit of money by not having to replace food. Also provided comfort as it powered my central air conditioning with no trouble. Easy to set up and start. Acceptable noise level for size of unit. Does like gas!
