I'm pleased with the overall look and the attention to engineering details. The generator appears to have been designed for ease of maintenance. I like the location of the oil dipstick, oil filter and the oil fill on the engine. I also liked the oil drain hose which will make it easier to not make a mess when draining the motor oil. I would have liked for it to have flat-free tires. This generator will be stored for long periods of time between use. I do not look forward to having to air up tires when I need to move it to where it will be needed during a power outage. I would have also liked covers over the electrical outlets to keep mud daubers from plugging the outlets with mud during storage. I have not used the generator yet, but overall I like what I see based on decades of experience as a railroad signal maintainer running generators at signal locations during power outages.

Pre read the manual online the day prior to delivery which made the startup effortless. Assembly was a breeze and it srarted right up with ease. Ran it for about 30 minutes, loaded an air compressor, portable heater, and shop vac just to test. Then tested the whole house, 2 fridges, freezer, furnace, gas water heater, and numerous lights. Flawless performance. Expect to survive the eventual power outage this winter and next spring.

When I opened the parts package there was oil over everything. Pumped up a flat tire and now both are flat. Had to purchase locking nuts to install the handle. It appears to work well, but your detail and instruction booklet leaves much to be desired. This replaces a 15-year-old 15KW unit, so am confident that it will perform well. Along with a spare air filter there was what appeared to be a "tickler" cable/plug, but no place on the generator to plug it in (when & if needed to restore the magnetic generator load).

After long storage battery dead. Customer service said had to disconnect battery we will ship a bra one. Well off days off storage so it should cut off the battery. I read the manual says on will drain it turn off. Nothing about discount. That was last fall. Took battery out Month ago one start was great left battery in month later won't start. Even with new battery. Plug is super dirty and chipped. Got a new one to put in this weekend. I am sure it's going to be a tough start. Now does a plug get so dirty on 38 hours of use? Going to change oil too. Don't know where fuel filter is either manual won't say and it doesn't look like a car filter. Also that list the part number for the plug but can't find out what type. I thought generac was a good brand. I was wrong. I wish I got a different brand that just starts up. I lost everything in the fridge because this refurb can't start past 38 hours of run time. Right now it turns but doesn't turn over

I purchased the GP7500E to replace a smaller 3250 generator to provide backup power for my house. Last December we had a power outage in the middle of a winter storm, the smaller generator worked for a few items, but I wanted to power more circuits in the house. I installed a transfer switch so I can power the furnace, refrigerator, TV, computer and several lights in the house I assembled the generator, added oil, gas and connected the battery. It fired up right away! I definitely like the battery start! I did a test run on the house and everything powered up as expected, now to wait for the next power outage.

I live in an area that is rural and the power goes out a few times a year. A month ago we had a storm and lost power for about 24 hours. I had a little generator but it was only good for a couple lights and t.v.. Problem is I have a refrigerator, a freezer, and a well pump I need power to as well. Next week I went looking for a bigger more reliable generator and found it with my generac 6500. After I got it home I was actually hoping to have another storm knock the power out so I could see how it would do. Wasnt long and it happened! It was only about a week later another storm came through and knocked the power out for about 7 hours. Long enough to try out the new generac. Rolled it out easy enough even though it's pretty heavy, pulled once and it was running like a champ. Plugged in the necessities and it handled everything. It was so nice to have in that situation. This winter I plan on having a transfer switch so I can run everything from lights to heat. I'd recommend this generator if your looking for one.

I had wanted to have an automatic standby generator; but the installation costs quoted by two different contractors was more than I wished to pay. I decided to replace my existing portable generator with one with electric start so that my wife could start it if we lost power when I was not home. The GP8000E met out needs exactly. I am pleased with the quality of construction and features. Assembly was simple, involving installing the legs and wheels, filling the crankcase with the supplied oil, and filling the gas tank. I didn't need to charge the battery, I just pressed the start button, adjusted the choke, and I was in business.

Bought for emergency use only, to power a sump pump and maybe a gas fired heating system in winter. Used only once so far, to help a friend during power outage. It started up easily. They were able to run their heating system (hot air), which was nice because temp was down to freezing at night. Since then I tested it one other time during mid-winter, to make sure it would work in cold weather, and it started up no problem. This unit has one duplex outlet with 15 amp breaker. Only enough power for essentials, but that's all I wanted. It is relative small, and one able bodied person can move it if required.

This generator performed excellent right out of the box!! Took less than 20 minutes to assemble prior to starting. Very simple instruction for assembly and operation. Came in handy when we lost power recently for 7 days!!! Believe me, we put it through the tests to see just what it would and wouldn't run and were very surprised. The only thing it wouldn't run was our drier which was no big surprise. Ran all our other 220volt items!

Ordered my Generac GP17500E after researching on-line and talking with friends who have Generac generators. To my surprise, it was ready for delivery in 1 day. Uncrated and assembled it in about 2 hours (instructions were good but could be more user friendly) and was impressed with the quality of construction. The supplied oil, spare filter, spark plug, etc., were added value. Very pleased with this generator and have recommended Generac to family and friends.
