Runs my entire house!

The area in which I live is always losing power. I was looking for a small generator to just run the essentials, like furnace, air conditioner, refrigerator. But this portable generator runs the whole darn house! Of course, I don't have a very big house, but this is GREAT! And so easy to start! I'm very happy!

Easy assembly, easy to staret.

Assembly was easy, Cut out of box and followed assembly instructions. Instructions to prepare for running were very clear. Started with some difficulty, felt hard to pull to start. Second time I started it was easy. Tested it two weeks later and had no problem starting. has all the power to run what i need during power outages. Great product.

Exactly what I needed

Living in Metro Detroit I unfortunately have the regional power supplier as my electric utility. Unfortunately the power is just a bit less reliable than it is in Afghanistan. After numerous outages and a ridiculous amount of damage I bought this generator. Unboxed it, put the frame and wheels together, added the oil and gasoline and it starts on the first pull (actually not even a pull - just a tug after the starter engaged). Light enough for me to lift myself, and with the wheels it is easily mobile. More than enough power to run the sump pump, freezer, and refrigerator for short spells during the numerous outages I experience. Extremely easy to use and maintain. It is unfortunate I need to own something like this at all, but since I do I doubt I could do better. Do the scheduled maintenance and it is always ready and should last indefinitely. Given the track record of the local utility they should be required to provide one for every customer.

175 HRs , Running strong

Excellent reliability, use on job, always starting and stopping the generator.. Even dropped off of the side of a roof, and it landed up side down , still started first pull after this incident...I have replaced the pull cord once during my two years of ownership

Looks good - let's hope I don't need it.

In one year our area had two major multi-day power outages. I purchased this generator after speaking with licensed electricians and reading on-line reviews. Set up was very easy and clear. I wanted to run a test with just a small amount of gasoline (1 qt) but I needed a gallon to get everything flowing. It started and I ran it for about 20 minutes - testing electrical capacity. Seems good - let's I hope I don't need it, but if I do, it's there and I'm confident it will get the job done.

A great backup system

We had a standby 12K natural gas backup generator from Generac in upstate NY and when we moved to eastern North Carolina we had nothing so we decided to go with a portable. Purchased the Generac 7600E (electric start) and had a electrician wire a 10 circuit panel into our house circuits. When the power goes out, we just plug the generator into the house circuits, start it and turn on the house circuits 1 at a time. Works wonderfully. My only wish is that the electric start battery system had a meter to tell the user how much voltage was left in the battery. Overall cost about $1500.

Very powerful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator was bought to power my house during a power outage. It is easy to set up. The directions are simple-you don't have to be a handyman in order to put it together. It comes with the first supply of oil. You just open it up and pour it in! I am extremely happy that it has a push start. I am a very small framed woman and I was afraid that in an emergency situation, I would not be able to start it on my own.(with a pull start) I was able to push a button and bam power! It is quite heavy, but it's not hard to wheel it where you want it to go...and with the never flat tires, you won't have to worry about getting it stuck with a punctured tire. This generator is very powerful. I was able to power our refrigerator, the neighbors refrigerator, two TVs, a deep freezer, a computer, two fans and lights. It's not as loud as I thought it would be. About as loud as a lawnmower. This thing ran for TWELVE STRAIGHT HOURS! That's impressive! Bottom line is... buy this Generac! Don't buy a knock-off brand to save a couple of dollars. It will not have all the features of this Generac. It will not be as durable or as reliable. You will not be able to power the amount of things this Generac does and it will not run as good or as long!

Awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was initially for hurricane purposes but I have a feeling it will be used for more than that! Upon opening I discovered that there was a 25ft 20amp cord included, which was great, one less cord I had to purchase! From my understanding, there is a pull start and an electric start version of this model. I have the pull start, which I was a bit worried about, honestly, see as how I always struggle with starting up the lawnmower, haha. But, I can honestly say, this was a lot easier to start up than I expected! This generator has huge heavy duty wheels and handle bars, making it soo much easier to transport it wherever I need it to be at in the yard! Also, the handle bars fold down and lock into place making it a bit more compact for those who are limited space! After checking things out a bit and reading the instruction manual, it's to my understanding that it is equipped with a nifty little feature, it has a low-oil level shut down feature that helps protect the engine from any damage! This is wonderful for those who are not used to checking their oil level or just completely forget because so much is going on! This generator is wonderful so far! I have not been able to use it for a super long period of time, but it has been used for powering a pressure washer for a decent length of time for a side job! I have confidence that this will work wonders for a power outage, work/side jobs or even for some camping trips! Very happy with it so far!

A "POWERHOUSE" generator

This generator is an excellent choice for backup electricity, once outages take place. I live in Florida, home of the hurricanes and when the power is gone, homes inside become 88-92 degrees warm. After this last hurricane, I said no more ... so decided to invest in not only a generator but the top free standing generator I could buy. This "Bear" as I call it ... can power the following just off the 50 amp take; 4 ton a/c, two refrigerators, microwave, TV, all lighting in the home, garage door openers. I can turn on the stove as long as the a/c unit is off. Oh ... and I supply my neighbor with a 30 amp outlet for his refrigerator and fans. The "Bear" doesn't even flinch. Two neighbors have already come by and have asked me for information on where I purchased "The Bear". There is one set back I found when assembling the electrical connections. The 50 amp receptacle located underneath the electrical panel on the generator is placed with the ground connection located at "9-o'clock". So, in order for your plug to function correctly and capable of using the safety metal pin in case of disengagement, you must use a "50 amp round male plug". Only way you can keep the proper alignment. Otherwise, by using the common 50 amp plug, the cord will be laying off to the side of the muffler where it becomes very, very hot for obvious reasons. I did not find any information as to the set up or 50 amp plugs to be used while assembling. Otherwise, this is a great generator and I am very proud of my "Made in U.S.A." product. "Quality you can see, quality you can test … because it is quality at its best".

Fast and easy setup, high expectations!

Pre read the manual online the day prior to delivery which made the startup effortless. Assembly was a breeze and it srarted right up with ease. Ran it for about 30 minutes, loaded an air compressor, portable heater, and shop vac just to test. Then tested the whole house, 2 fridges, freezer, furnace, gas water heater, and numerous lights. Flawless performance. Expect to survive the eventual power outage this winter and next spring.
