We bought this generator 2 weeks ago because we lost power where we live. Great generator after using this one for almost 24 hours! Pretty easy to put the feet & 2 wheels on.. Takes probably 5 minutes to install. We used this generator about 2 hours after buying it had to add oil... Which it comes with & will take the entire bottle & gas. After adding all that & reading the book we let is run about 2 hours before adding any plugs or appliances to the generator. The book says to let it run for up to 25 hours before adding appliances but we crossed out fingers & ran it for 2 hours & worked great. No problems at all with this one. First time buyer & this one is worth it.

I bought the Westinghouse WGen5300s after I spent a lot of time comparing dozens of portable open frame generators. I went as far as making a spreadsheet listing 20 or so specifications and features for each generator when deciding my purchase. I wanted a stand by power source for my modestly sized rural home. In addition to powering some appliances and a few lights it had to provide 240 volts to a well pump. It will be connected via a manual transfer switch so the generator had to provide 240 volts through a L14-30R outlet. This requirement eliminated most other generators. I considered dual fuel generators but the added cost of such units was a deterrent and the fact that propane is more costly and provides less power from the generator than gasoline eliminated that option for me. Fuel economy was a very important consideration when comparing the different generators and there was a substantial difference that seems to be mostly associated with engine size and wattage output. The features most important to me were electric start, a built in meter for monitoring voltage, frequency and run time, a fuel gauge and an included wheel kit. Noise levels, weight and warranty period were also important considerations. This model met all of my requirements and beat most others when considering specs and features. The price from Amazon with free fast shipping made it a great value. I just received it so I cannot comment on its performance yet but I'm hoping it will provide many years of stand by power if needed.

I purchased this generator after researching for a week and this is the best bang for your bucks. I am impressed as to how quiet it is compared to some of the others. Easy to move and start which is important to me as I'm a 60+ women and this is my first generator.

We have been researching generators to purchase, starting last year. Due to hurricane season 2023, we ended up not purchasing because we waited too long, and they were hard to find due to hurricane season in full swing. This year we started early and after reviewing many based-on features and pricing, we decided on the Westinghouse WGEN5300SC. The portability was important, and it allowed us to purchase the amount of power we needed, for a good price.

this is my first generator to own, the instructions gave good information, some good details about how to prepare this generator to start. Tools needed are a 10mm socket, a long tube funnel to put in the oil and broad mouth funnel to put in the gas. Once the tires are on and the feet are attached, oil put in, the gas is cleaned up from around the mouth, I allowed the machine to set for an hour to allow the gas spills to evaporate. this machine fired right up , it was easy to set up and run. I recommend this Generator.

Gets the job done! No damage on arrival. Needed for the basics fridge and tv no problem. Being in Southern California wild fires and black outs becoming everyday this w5300v has been up to the task. Sound is tame comes with the basics wheels and oil. Thank you!

I bought this generator about 3 weeks ago. It was easy to assemble. Everything that was needed came in the box. The directions didn't tell you how much oil to add, but I used the entire bottle that was included. I haven't actually run this generator during a power outage but I did run it for about 10 minutes to make sure that it would run. Everything seems great so I can't wait to use it!

Easy and immediate start, great value for the price. Only reason I did not leave 5 stars is due to poor packaging. I had to return my first unit due to shipping damage. My second unit arrived dented; however I kept it because there was no mechanical damage.

This is my second one .... First one wouldnt stay running took it to repair shop authorizes by Westinghouse they had it for a month couldn't get it to work . Westinghouse sent a new unit fired it up ran great. Put unit away 2 months later have a power failure pulled it out started it ran it for 5 mins plugged in my trailer it stalled and will not restart.

My hubby bought this for the family for hurricane season in Florida. After looking around at reviews and prices, we decided upon this make/ model. When it came in it was even better than we expected! It's easy for me to move and the instructions are right on the generator for me to use if he's not home. It came with a very detailed instruction booklet which I appreciate! He's in construction and has used generators for years but I've got no experience with one so it gave very detailed instructions on safety, usage, and maintenance. That was very helpful to me!
