I received unit 1-25-24. Easy startup guide took approximately 30 minutes. Cranked unit manually 1st pull fired up. Shutdown and did electric start, all power ports work great. Shut fuel valve and let carb run dry, unit took approximately 1minute with no heavy surge or knocking. Highly recommend Westinghouse

Arrived in great condition in a timely manor. Included clear instructions, tools to assemble, and even engine oil. The finish on the product is well detailed and appears to be a high quality piece of equipment, particularly for the price point. Very happy with purchase.

Purchased the 5300S as a back up for my pellet stove, refrigerator, and chest freezer as we have little ones and the winters can be harsh. It powers everything perfectly with plenty left over for some lights and a TV. With the 240V option I can also run my electric water heater for showers/baths! Wonderful machine that was a breeze to set up and started immediately with one push of the button. 11/10!

I bought this generator to replace one that died on me. This generator got very high reviews and I decided to give it a try. I am very happy with it. Very easy to get set up, and started up on first try. It looks like it will give me many years of great service....I am glad I got it....cant wait until the first power outage to really give it a good test.

I only recently bought and started this generator. Although it seems to run fine, I'm very disappointed in how many times I had to manually pull the start mechanism chord. In the 5 times that I started it, it took from 4 to 8 pulls to start. That's a problem and not good enough. As for the Average rating I gave, it's much too early in my usage of this generator to really give any rating.

I bought this generator two months ago to prepare for the coming winter. As this year's first big winter storm is coming to our area, I finally managed to install a transfer switch and set up the generator as per the manual. The setup appeared to be easy and straightforward. I ran the machine for 10 min or so and it worked smoothly without any issue. Now I can finally give myself a piece of mind before the storm coming.

I bought this generator to rapid charge my solar system batteries in the unlikely event that the grid is down, there is no sun and my battery bank is depleted. I specifically appreciate the power output (just over 5kW), the electric start and the reasonable noise level. After unboxing and loading oil and gas, the generator fired right up with no issues. The design is very clean, full featured and reasonably portable with large wheels. If you don’t need an inverter generator, I’d highly recommend this one. I also own a Westinghouse inverter generator that we take camping and have been very happy with that unit for several years now.

I received with no visible damages. I thought this was important to say since there were so many reviews that stated they received with damages. I also didn’t buy because of so many. I gave 4 stars because I have not added the oil or gas. Will do that tomorrow and hopefully it works fine.

This is my 3rd WH generator. First was a WGen3600, sold it to my son in law. Bought a WGen7500 dual fuel and now bought this one the WGen5300 this year as a backup. Great features and got us through hurricane Sally in Florida a couple of years ago.

I just got hit by a 14-hour power outage. That was my first time putting the generator to test. It performed very well. I have it hooked to a 6-circuit panel running 2 furnaces, my kitchen including all appliances, my family room and 2 bedrooms. I would definitely recommend it.
