In 2020 I purchased 3 generators (one at a time) to be shipped to me. Each one had either manufacturing or shipping defects. So I was a little wary of ordering another one online. BUT THIS TIME IT WORKED !! The generator arrived when promised, assembly was very simple (more so than the 3 previous ones), and I added oil and gas, and on the second pull, I was SOOO HAPPY, AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT!!

Alternator end cap came bent just like it has with many other people. Generator did not start right away. I had to start the generator with the choke off so not 100% sure it is working correctly. But powered up my fridge and freezer after break in period.

After years of inconvenient storm related power outages I got fed up and had to get a generator. My 5300 Watts Westinghouse generator was delivered in perfect condition, very easy to setup and get started. I later installed a manual transfer switch for the generator which provides power directly to my most critical circuits. The complete installation was very easy and now I am prepared for the inevitable power outages. So far I am extremely satisfied with my generator and recommend it 100%.

I bought this generator for when we go camping and to power the essentials in the house when we lose power. This benefits the bill perfectly. The never flat wheels with bearings and the handle make it so much easier to tote around compayto my old generator.

I purchased this generator to use for emergency backup of essential circuits in my home. I have a small 1,500SF home and this 5300 watt unit is the perfect size to run my refrigerator, boiler, computer equipment and verizon router, some kitchen appliances and a few lights. I chose it for watt capacity and weight/size. It has a smaller engine than other models and weighs a little over 100 Lbs which is no problem to transport from the garage to a spot in the yard. To have an easy to use backup system, I also installed a Reliance transfer switch (also purchased on Amazon). The unit was well packed and arrived in perfect condition. After installing the wheels and feet, reading the operating manual and putting in some gas and oil, it started right up with the electric start. I've done a pull-the-plug test in my home and everything worked perfectly. I'm ready for another power outage if it comes along. The one negative comment I have is very minor; the graphic on start switch is is mis-labeled - easy enough to deal with. I would definitely recommend this product for someone with a small home and only a few home appliances to run in an emergency.

I bought this WGen5300v to replace a smaller Predator generator now that I have an interlock on my home electrical panel with an exterior 30A plug. Now I’ll be able to use a few more items in the house if and when we lose power during the winter months. Easy assembly. Great features.

Purchased late Dec. 2021. My new Wgen 5300s is everything I need for portable emergency power. Added gas and oil, it started on the first pull and purrs like a kitten. Very impressed with how quite it is too and the confidence of Westinghouse quality and great pricing!! Thanks for a fine product.

After the 2021 snowstorm, I decided to get better prepared for the future blackouts. I've installed a disconnect and an exterior 240V outlet that let me inject the power into the main panel after I disconnect the main breaker and isolate the whole house from city's utilities. A smooth run requires quasi-balanced loads on L1 and L2. The oil inlet could be better designed for easier access, but it is what it is.

I brought this generator after being without power for 2 1/2 days. I wanted one that could power my well pump and some other things in the house. I also like the fact I can use.it to power my camper if I ever need to. I tried on my camper and it runs great. Westinghouse has always made a reliable product.

After much research on the net I selected the WGEN5300S for my emergency portable generator. The key features I was looking for was size vs power ratio, Decibel level and run time. Westinghouse is a generational name brand and the selection was right on. After adding fuel and oil the generator started right up second pull.
