I received and installed the wheels and foot of the generator chassis. The installation process was smoothly and straightforward. I like the reasonable weight of this model, WGen5300sc. For occasional power outages, I expect this generator to provide adequate power supply for the essential appliances, e.g. refrigerator

I have had a generator for many years, but it was large and always hard to start. I bought this Westinghouse model mainly because of the electric start feature. This works very well. I was surprised happily that it was more compact, lighter, and had CO sensor.

Bought this generator knowing it weighed 148#, was hoping I would be able to move it where needed when the time comes. Widow lady with a bad back and this thing is so well balanced that it is no problem at all. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet, hopefully never will, but glad I have it after the last outage. Boyfriend bought this for my house because we are always losing power in the area. He checked out many generators and after reviewing them all he said that the Westinghouse unit is the one to go with. The generator is easy to use and start. He hooked up a transfer box that I just run the twist lock cord to and throw a switch and we have power to the building. I was happy to find out that it powers almost everything in the house.

Received generator in a timely matter. Unpack and all parts and manuals were there. Installed wheels and feet per installations. Filled generator with oil and gas per instructions. Connected battery, choked and try to start. Would not not start with electric starter. Assume battery was dead. Used pull cord and started on first pull. Will read instructions on charging battery. One thing I noticed, draining oil could be a little messy. Need to add an extension tube to oil drain plug/hole. It seem to be made very well and should last a while with maintenance. Great product.

Bought this after a storm knocked out power to several towns, some people were without power for days. Set it up so it can run the entire house (except maybe central air) bought a cord to run to an outlet under panel, tested it today and it works great. Entire house running and still at only half load.

We bought in May of this year, started using 3 times a week with no problems for about three weeks, then the problems started ..first little things, the spring in the carberator sprung, the pull start assembly broke, the arm on the choke adjustment broke, little things that make it really hard for the generator to run correctly. Normal wear and tear I understand, but not replacing carberator in 3 weeks time, or pull start assembly twice in as many months and still no response from westinghouse support about the warranty that all this should be covered under ..but when the generator is 100%, it's amazingly quiet, handles well and easy to use, great on gas too! If you didn't get a lemon as I believe we have u will have a great generator

We bought this generator to replace an eleven-year-old Honda model that finally died. We live in a remote, heavily wooded area, and often lose power. My husband, 81 and I, 75, both a bit wobbly, managed to easily unpack and set this up on our own in about 30 minutes. The instructions are well written, extremely clear, and logical. The unit itself is logical, everything marked and instructions easy to understand. New features we are thrilled about: electric starter means I can start this by myself; the fuel gage makes it easier to determine fuel levels in the dark, and the CO2 shut off is a great safety feature. This generator runs our well pump, oil furnace, refrigerator, household lights, microwave, toaster oven, internet & WIFI, TVs etc. without a problem. Plus, it seems quieter and appears to run cleaner. After getting it all set up, we ran it for about 30 minutes without issue. We're quite happy with our purchase. Just read the instructions and follow each step as outlined and you won't have a problem.

Just lost power due to storms in the area so I decided to purchase this model, the price was great, and the electric start was a huge plus, especially since I may need my wife to operate the generator when I'm not home. The assembly was super easy and I now have peace of mind knowing the next outage will be covered!

Bought this cause my wife nagged me about a generator forever. Used it once put it away a couple years and then had it serviced. Service tech said there was an issue with compression and found a metal shim in the piston chamber. Got it fixed, works fine. Leaving review as part of registering my warranty.
