LG 15,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Okay

Right out of the box the unit would not power on. Spent a couple hours mounting and assembling only to dismantle it and return it after it wouldn't power on. Customer service through LG was pointless.  Luck of the draw I guess.

Bad unit

I got interested in buying the LG LW1516ER because its' predecessor, the LG1515ER was the only 15,000 BTU window mounted air conditioner, listed by Walmart, that had no negative comments from customers.  The new 1516 model was the same as the popular 1515 model only with several improvements added.  

One improvement was an energy saving mode.  The other thing that I wanted was the largest capacity air conditioner, that I could operate on a standard 120 volt wall socket.  And of course, I wanted a good price.

After I purchased the 1516, and got ready to mount it.  I discovered that the air conditioner pulled from it's case like a drawer.  This aspect was a huge plus.  I was able to easily mount the empty case in my window, then slide the air conditioner back into the case.

After installing our air conditioner, I was pleased that I could run it, in the energy saving mode--set at 75 degrees, and could easily cool our five room, 652 Sq Ft, second floor apartment.  Both my wife and I are delighted with the performance of our new air conditioner.
