This is a great great item. Our granddaughters love it and it is well constructed. It will tale time to assemble so allow a couple of hours. Happy with the purchase.

Put it together and 30 seconds later the scanner stopped working. That was 1 of the main features we looked for and it doesn't even work. Would have gone with a different brand if I knew that was going to happen

The trick with the scanner part is there has to be plenty of light in the room or directly above. So that when you swipe across it with your hand or an object, the shadow makes it "beep" or scan. So I believe all those saying scanner stopped working, may not know it is light sensitive. Hope this helps someone! Our kids love it so far. But gave only 4 stars because conveyor belt does not work properly.

Finally got the time to put this together after Christmas and good thing I read reviews on testing the scanner and register before we put it together. Neither of them worked even with trying our own batteries. What a pain is to have to go and return this now. Very disappointing

Bought this for my son for a Christmas gift. It’s all he wanted. Took us 4.5 hours to build between 2 people. In less than a week scanner wouldn’t scan and register no longer turns on. Changed batteries and emailed the manufacturer. Received a response stating they’re were reviewing our request for a new scanner and never heard from them again.

Bought this for Christmas for our 3 granddaughters (aged 9, 4, 2) and they love it. It does take a while to assemble; but so do a lot of large playthings. It's sturdy when put together & after months of play the girls haven't managed break it (hopefully I didn't just jinx it lol). They love the working scanner. The register works & has pictures of products. Boy howdy I'm certainly happy I don't have to pay the prices it rings up re: $33 for a banana! Also has a calculator and microphone. I saw a reviewer complain about a working mic but it only works if holding the button down while talking. The girls like using it & I gave them examples of when they'd use it re: price check, no waiting, carry out.... I do wish the register had auto shutoff. I've replaced the batteries 3 times already. Idk if ours is defective in not shutting off or it's the way it's made. The scanner doesn't shut off either but at least it doesn't stay on if there's not enough light for the light operation. It does require bright enough light for the internal red light to scan. The food/beverage boxes that come with it took a bit to put together as it was time consuming to start with but esp since I did it twice! I thought to tape the outside because the 2 yr old would open them constantly to check what's inside and as their made of thin cardboard I knew they couldn't take the wear & tear. After assembly I then realized she would squish them easily; hence the taking apart & reassemble. I stuffed the boxes with packing peanuts, in an attempt to keep them from bring squished to pieces, then retaped the outside so she couldn't get to the peanuts. We didn't find the pictures on the boxes don't match the titles like another reviewer. The organic, vegan dog food has a pic of a dog & the pink gum has a strawberry with a sliced strawberry on the box. All the other boxes are correct as well. We have added to the grocery store with toy grocery products we found elsewhere. The store is now fully stocked & even has a bakery section lol. Besides having to make sure the register is turned off after play the only other complaint I have is the conveyor belt. Although it turns it's difficult to operate. It slips on the rollers so when you're turning it the belt doesn't move with every turn. Since it's a short conveyor it's not a necessity to have as even the littlest one can reach the groceries that are on the conveyor without worries. That being said for the price (+ we bought on sale) it's hard to beat. I wish it was easier to contact the company about replacement parts. We'd like to purchase additional holders for the item tags. There's more paper tags than holders. We used the tags of what came most with the grocery store but now that they have more varieties of items we'd like to put additional tags on. Tag examples are: pet food, sugar, canned goods, laundry, baking .....

8 yr loved it she played with it for 8 hours christmas morning! Has a real scanner sound, real mic, moveable conveyer belt Comes with food and box foods! It may seem that the batteries in scanner are low but they are NOT it says on they scanner needs to be used in well lit lighting for scanner to work correctly this is true

My daughter absolutely loves this. She has special needs and is older than the typical child using this, so my husband did build a riser for it. It was easy to put together and is very secure. I have To literally make her stop playing with it so she will go to bed. It’s a great toy! The nice thing is that you can I corporate other things that you already have at home to make it any type of store… one day a bookstore…. One day art products, etc!

The store itself is very cute but I was very disappointed with the quality of the accessories. Most of them were cardboard and they are falling apart or the boxes won’t even stand up like the pictures. They didn’t last long. The directions are very flawed as well. They didn’t have very clear pictures on what you’re supposed to do, which made it take longer than it should have to build. We got this on sale. Its worth it if it’s on sale but not worth it if it’s full priced.

Love this Toy Grocery Store. Great Quality and so many included accessories for a great price. You get so much more for the money verses the Melissa & Doug store. Some people have complained that's it stopped working a couple days. We swapped out the included batteries and the Check Out feature says it needs to have proper lighting for it to scan items. We love it!
