We will be calling Sams tomorrow. Have been working on putting unit together for almost 3 hours and get to cash register and batteries were already installed and power switch was on. Batteries have corroded all over and wont work. Battery acid in play credit card also. Surprised it wound be shipped with batteries installed!!?? Disappointing outcome to what looked to be fun gift.

This grocery store won Christmas for my 3 year old! It is time consuming to put together, not hard but a lot of pieces. Took about 3 hours. I have read a lot of comments where the scanner stopped scanning and we thought this was the case for us after 20 minutes of playing. IT RUNS OFF OF LIGHTS!! Make sure the room is bright. Hope this review helps and that your child has as much fun as my mine does!

my great grandson just loves this grocery store play center but the scanner broke within 5 minutes and i cant find anyone to fix it or anywhere to buy just that part. I mean i should have to because well it was brand new for christmas but he loved the scan feature so much i would be willing to just buy that scanner part. how can people sell stuff that breaks in 3 minutes. absolutely terrible. if anyone knows where to get the scanner part please let me know. AND it took HOURS to put together so i dont want to take it all down and take it back besides they said they dont have anymore anyway. whoever manufactured these i wish you could buy just the scanner

This was a present for our 2 year old daughter from mawmaw and pawpaw for Christmas. It is very well made. It took my husband a little over 2 hours to put together on Christmas Eve night! I always wanted one of these when I was a kid, but never got one! Now I love to play store with my little one! She'll play for hours on end! The negatives is that the cash drawer is a little too small. It only has slots for 2 types of bills and 2 types of coins. I wish it was a bit more realistic and had 4 of each. Also, the credit card was missing, which isn't that big a deal, we have other play cards, gift cards, etc. Just wish it came with the one that it was supposed to and that said the same name as the store on it. Other than that, it is a awesome playset and I think it'll last her for years to come! I got the Melissa and Doug companion set to give her more money and more play food and other accessories! I also got her some more additional play food so she will have a fully stocked store! The boxes that came with this set are very thin and cheap! I reinforced them by putting the foam packing sheets that was in the original box inside all the play food boxes and by placing packing tape on the outside on all of them! Over all I would purchase this item again and I would definitely recommend to a friend or family member!
