The perimeter of the rug is well sewn to prevent fraying, and it was able to be completely flattened, quickly, after unpackaging it. It is pretty thick and heavy, but I'd recommend adding some grips if you plan on using it on a slippery surface. The colors are distressed, and the design feels vintage and inviting, in my opinion. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this gorgeous rug!

So disappointed with this rug. It is not as advertised. We ordered the 8 x 5 and when it arrived, it is only an 8 x 7. A foot short made all the difference and now I have to return it. Do not advertise this rug as an 8 x 5 when it clearly states on the product that it is a 5 x 7 when you get it.
