Best Pecan Pie Ever

We always get a couple of these during the holiday period because they've been better than any other store bought pecan pie. I'd even say very nearly as good as homemade pecan pie. But this year was NOT like the past. Though the pie looked gorgeous, the filling was runny and tasted like brown sugar and corn syrup- just super sweet and no flavor beyond that. The crust was also soggy, perhaps because of how wet the filling was. Nobody finished their slice, and the remainder all went into the trash bin.

It was too much filling

We used to love these pecan pies. Matter of fact we cut this one when we got home. I refused to eat more than 2 bites. It's just not anywhere near the same delicious pie. This pie was baked today so it's not stale. Definitely NOT worth the calories consumed! The rich buttery flavor is gone. It tastes like they've cut too many corners and raised the price to boot. This is one bound for the trash and we won't be buying another. By the way, the apple pie has suffered too. I used to think they had the best pecan and apple pies...now I have to bake again.

Was to be delivered for a special luncheon I couldn’t attend, and I was told it didn’t arrive…then 8 hours later they said it had.
