My family is from Texas and we always have pecan pie at Thanksgiving. We loved this Sam's pie at last year's Thanksgiving dinner and couldn't get enough of it. I went out of my way to drive an hour away to the nearest club to get it again for our Thanksgiving party this year. Literally, no one liked it this year. It seems like the recipe changed and the custardy filling was overly sweet, overwhelming the pecan flavor. I couldn't taste any spices. It's just like most average mass-produced versions I can find anywhere. I couldn't even finish a slice, even though I'm never one to not clean my dessert plate. It didn't have the fresh, nutty, homemade taste as we thought of it last year. So disappointed.

My daughter wanted to try this pie. Their pumpkin and apple pie are very good but this was a miss for us. It was a custard layer topped with roasted pecans. The pecan pies we have eaten always had pecans throughout with a more caramelized the pie filling. Love so many of their baked goods but we actually did not finish this pie and moved on to the apple pie.

I used to get this regularly, and it was almost as good as home-made. Fresh nuts and flaky crust. HOWEVER, I bought one the other day and literally could not eat it. Had to throw it away. (I live 2 hours from the nearest sams, too far just for a return) Some of the nuts were old, and the crust was literally inedible, and tasted horrible. Some places not done, some very hard, and other places were grainy..like eating dirt. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was. The pie used to be so wonderful.

Do not hesitate to buy this. This was hands down one of the best "store bought" pecan pies I have ever purchased. It was not too sweet, as most pecan pies are. Pecans were fresh and covered the top nicely. Filling was not overly sweet as pecan pie usually is. This was much better than what I anticipated.

This pie is truly the best. I need to practice self control to not buy one every week.

This pie is ridiculously delicious! i cannot stop eating it. Kudos for a job well done.
