You can't eat it straight out of the can in a salad. It has a horrible taste. This is best made into salmon croquets. Now I know why my Mom never made salmon salads. After eating wild caught sockeye salmon it's unbearable to eat this straight out of the can in a salad. Smells bad! I can tolerate albacore tuna but not this.

This arrived today and it's a normaly product we purchase. It is the first time we had it shipped. I am rating a 2 out of 5 due to the way it came to us. Three out of eight cans are dented. Either poorly packaged or pulled from the shelf this way. This concerns us as it could be a food safety matter.

I was completely disgusted when I bought this product recently with the hopes of make salmon patties. What I found when I opened the cans was so disgusting that I threw it away. I plan to take the 2 remaining cans back to Sam's. I had already open 2 of the 4 cans before looking inside.

I’m so sorry I didn’t suspect that the Honey Boy Pink salmon was NOT boneless and skinless : it’s full of tiny bone fragments and skin. I totally dislike the feeling of bones and skin in canned salmon. Secondly, I didn’t realize the can was family size: 5 servings. I needed to store most of it in a container in the fridge of course. Bottom line : I won’t but again. I’ll stick to the Alaskan Wild Skinless Boneless which I regularly bought in the past.

We bought this canned salmon because we have limited freezer space and wanted to stock up on an assortment of food items. Salmon smells fishy but the fishy odor from this salmon was so pungent when warmed it was nauseating. It had bones in it (vertebra?) and was very unappetizing to the eye. I can get past the color looking less pink but the odor and bones in it was just too much. If other reviews are correct; "it is healthier to eat the bones" I expect eating fresh caught is the only way to go to achieve added health benefits because I don't see how choking this down could be worth any added health benefits. It would take a special person to eat this, not really suitable for a first world country.

I absolutely love salmon and have tried many different brands of canned salmon that were just fine. This brand is AWFUL. First of all, it does not even have a hue of pink, it is a light tan/sickly brown color. The Daily Chef canned salmon at Sam's is nice and pink along with every other brand I have ever laid eyes on. Secondly, I spend 20 minutes picking scales and skins out of the first 1/4 of the can, all the while noting that the smell is unpleasant and unlike any canned salmon I have ever smelled. I was still determined to make it work though. Then I found a piece that had MANY vertebrae? Perhaps? Not really sure what I was looking at but it was horrifying. I found a lot of bones after finding this piece as well. I gave up. I had lost my appetite and quite frankly was nauseated beyond belief. It will be a long time before I am able to look at salmon again.... Yuck!

Economical way to make a really good fish stew and to get your omega 3s

This is the worst canned salmon it's 3/4 bones and skin. Not worth buying.

Well packed, solid fish. Strong smell and poor taste. My cats enjoyed the salmon.
