Folgers changed their “recipe” again. I suspect that this blend is predominately robusta beans now. It is now bitter (not from the roast, but from the bean), grainy, less complex, tastes more like weak hickory smoke. The coffee lacks the nice floral coffee aroma and subtle brightness that it use to have.

Yucky! I used to think Folgers was the best smelling and a pretty good tasting coffee, but I just bought a can and it smelled like chemicals right out of the can, and it tastes like super bitter chemicals. I feel like I'm drinking road tar-flavored water. Not sure what happened, but this seems consistent with all the other recent 1-star reviews. They must've had an oopsie at the plant and don't want to admit it, or quality control has just gone to pot.

My husband and I have noticed a difference in our longtime favorite, Folgers Classic Roast coffee. At first we noticed a burnt smell, and it isn't as smooth either. I decided to google whether or not they had changed their formula. It appears they have not, but have changed their roasting process. We miss the old flavor and for the first time in decades, are trying other brands. We hope they will bring the original back.

Tasted like burnt black beans, and bitter coffee! Absolutely un acceptable especially at a high price. This coffee will go to the flower bed as a very expensive fertilizer. Now I have been buying just the coffee beans to make sure is the real deal but figured Folgers would be a better alternative since Sam's Club had it on sale. No thanks, I'll have to go back to buy just the coffee beans

The "classic" aroma and taste generations before us enjoyed is now completely gone. It is bitter, causes stomach issues and illness, smells like burnt ashy plastic and has a very chemical taste. Made both my husband and myself sick to our stomachs for 3 days. Our water is filtered, our coffee pot and all internal parts are deep cleaned routinely, and we've tried several different batches of the Folgers Classic.. its not anything wrong on our end.. its the coffee. Which is disheartening, as I know it was a favorite of my husbands and many other folks for decades. The blanket statements the Folgers company seems to prefer to reply to these complaints with are unsatisfactory and a slap in the face to loyal customers. We KNOW something is different. Don't gaslight us. Just FIX THE ISSUE and restore the classic taste, aroma, and ingredients of FOLGERS. Because whatever the Smuckers plant is putting into the cannisters and trying to pass off as our once beloved FOLGERS ... ain't it. Its gross, bitter, and is literally making people sick to their stomachs.

This is not the large container that was previously sold which was 51 oz size. The flavor of this coffee has changed. This is a complaint of the Folgers co. Shrinkflation plus not the coffee that made the company who it is. I'll be waiting for Maxwell House to go on sale.

My family used to love the Folgers Columbian Med-Dark ground coffee - just as my grandparents/parents did. Now they don't even make it and what they sell is bitter, acidic and not smooth or flavorful at all!! Bring back an enjoyable, smooth, full-flavored coffee that isn't bitter!! We keep trying it, but with the price increases, we're now looking for a brand who will provide what you no longer do.

I buy this only because of the price I wish they would get the Folgers black silk back on the shelf
