Customer reviews for OmniMount Extended Full Motion Mount for 43-80" TVs - SC120FMX forVerified Purchase
TV anyone?
We bought 2 of these tv mounts. It is a bit more money but it is well worth it. It's versatile and serves all of our purposes. Relatively easy installation. I think the hardest part was remembering where all the wires go when you are done.

Glad I bought it
This is the first TV wall mount I've bought. I tried to look around and do comparison shopping, but for something like this, I think it's hard to evaluate until you've got it home and are using it. It was pretty easy to put up and had all the parts. It seems very sturdy and well made. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Outstanding Full Motion TV Mount
This is a very solid wall hanger for a flat screen TV. Upon opening the box, you could see the quality of this hardware and installation was a breeze if you ever installed a TV Mount before. I am quite pleased with this purchase especially considering the low price (under $80) I paid.

Good, but not great...
I mounted a 75" LG LCD TV, which weights about 75 lbs. Everything when together pretty well and is securely mounted to the wall. Moving the TV in/out from the wall is difficult for one person. This is a Full Motion Mount and would expect easy movement of the tv (tilting up/down & side to side works good). I have another 65" TV using a Full Motion Mount and it is very easy to move and it weights about 65 lbs. I was expecting this mount to work as well, but it's good enough and the sale price ($75) was good.

Second try we got it hung
Hung a 65" TV on this mount. We bought anchors and used those. It went up with a fair amount of ease. It is a two person, perhaps three person, job. Someone has to hold the TV up to a single arm bracket while another puts a pin in the hole of the bracket. It is tricky to get the washers in between the pin and hole on top and bottom of the bracket. After installation, we found that we could move our TV in various positions but prefer to just have it straight on toward our bed with it tilted down as far as it can go. This job may go smoother if your feet are firmly planted on the floor. We wanted the TV to be high on our wall (7 foot) so we mounted it while my 64 yr. old husband was on a ladder and I was on a wobbly step stool. A problem we did have was getting it level. I am deducting a star for the included graph/guide to place on your wall to mark level lines. I would not recommend using it. Our first attempt was a total fail and the mount had a noticable off kilter look so we had to drill four more holes in our wall after going to ton to buy materials to patch the other holes and they are not small holes. We got it level the second time without the use of the enclosed guide and just measured carefully. If you buy this you will see what I am referring to and you can decide whether to use it or not. The mount it self is a dandy. It is sturdy (so far) and nice looking although you never see it. It swivels and tilts. I bought it on sale so price was fair compared to others I looked at.

Good quality. Sturdy and easy to mount.
This worked well for our situation. We needed a wall mount that would extend 25 inches from the wall, so it would sit just outside of our old entertainment center. I wanted to keep our entertainment center, but it would only fit a 39 inch TV. This allowed me to mount a 50 inch TV - which sits just outside the entertainment center but still allows the doors on the side cabinets to open just fine. It only allows a small amount of up and down tilt and it doesn't allow you to move it up or down once it is mounted. It was pretty easy to mount because I'm a bit handy. I did it when my husband was hunting and surprised him when he returned. It took me a few hours. It required the use of a power drill to pre-drill holes into the studs in the wall behind the entertainment center. I'm really happy because I didn't want to part with my entertainment center, but my husband wanted a larger TV than what it could hold, so this was a good compromise. I was able to mount a 50 inch TV where the entertainment center would only fit a 39 inch TV. The mounting instructions were pretty straight forward. But note that the "center" mark on the template isn't the best way to determine the center of the TV. I had to drill a second set of holes because I didn't factor in the fact that the holes on the back of the TV were low on the TV itself - not centered. Also be sure to move the screws on the arm before you mount it so the arm comes out at the center point. There are three settings - to allow for the fact that the mount may be off center based on where the studs are on the wall. I noticed this before I put it on the wall, it's not very clear in the instructions. Otherwise the TV would've been off center.

Mediocrity at its Best
I thoroughly researched the compatibility of this mount with the television (also bought at Sam's Club). I went to the actual OmniMount website and used their compatibility tool. Everything said it should work... well except reality. I have mounted several TV's using various mounts and never had the process take more than an hour (and usually far less time). I stared at this things, read and re-read the instructions, tried all manner of variations to get this to mount to a 300x300 VISA pattern for over 3 hours with zero success. I called Sam's Club 24/7 assistance and OmniMount Customer Service and not a one of them could figure out either... one even told me they didn't even have the owner's manual in their system to help customers! But I'm persistent if I'm nothing else... so a detailed measurement, a drill, and a tap and die set, and I modified this to work with my brand new 55-inch Magnavox TV. I do like how it works now that I'm beyond the frustration of having to re-engineer something for which I paid good money, but icebergs will sooner float by me in Louisiana before I buy another one of these mounts!

Good once you figure out how to assemble
Product did not come with all of (or the correct) screws, hence needed to either purchase some parts or scrounge in the garage. Also, instructions are cryptic in many cases. For my particular model television, there required kludging some spacers in order to support the curved back panel of the TV. While the OmniMount instructions suggested it would support this (and their website indicated support for my particular model TV), I had to figure out a combination of included spacers and spacers I purchased later in order to get the mounting to work. Now that it's on the wall, I'm happy with the mount capabilities. However, can't give it 4 or 5 stars due to the headaches encountered during installation.

Clumsy design
Over all it is a great and sturdy product but when compared to other brands, where the TV full motion mount does come apart in 3 groups, but this one only has 2 groups. Most of these full motion mounts comes with the base bracket which you secure it to the wall/ stud, the arm assembly where you can put on to the wall bracket and reposition it laterally, then the final plate/brackets mount to the back of the tv, but this on the arm assembly is pre mounted on to the wall brackets, so when you try to screw the mounting plate to the wall stud, you will need a extra person to help you hold it. Pros: it does comes with not so accurate paper template and a nice simple level/stud finder Over all I still recommend it because of quality of the product and how well it was made. Exp: I have hung will over 100's of various TV mounts in my carrier

Wasn't great
They sold me a used one. I return it. Parts missing along with the instructions. Did not like having to drive back to the store. I had it set up for pick up at store. They sold me a opened product.
