It is nice looking and sturdy. The color of the wood is slightly lighter than pictured. There’s also a ton of imperfections on the wood and for how much I spent, it is a bit bothersome. Overall, it’s a high quality product. I really liked the option to pay extra for installation. The guys did a good job setting it up overall, though it did prevent us from noticing the imperfections prior to setting it up.

This gazebo is very nice when complete. We were concerned with space and the level of our concrete patio since we have a pool and the concrete slopes so we opted to put it together ourselves. Oh my.... that was a project and there was much cussing. But the finished product is absolutely worth it. We've installed a ceiling fan and string lights. We will be installing one of backyard disvovery's grill gazebos that matches the Cordova as soon as the slab is ready!

We bought the 14x10 Cordova gazebo. From purchase, to delivery, to resolution of a broken piece in shipment…customer service was excellent. In fact, it reminds me of the “good ole days”, when you were actually able to speak with a live person by phone who cared, resolve the issue or provided info and after the call, made sure that what was promised actually happened. The shipment comprised of 6 boxes, all well packed and contents marked. The delivery team (three guys and a truck) went out of their way to accommodate delivery up a steep driveway to the house. Now, we decided to tackle this project ourselves. For two folks in the mid 60’s, we took our time and followed both the instructions in the manual, but mostly relied on the online video, which was excellent. The only challenges were…placement of the four roof panel onto the structure. Even with 3 men, it was a challenge. No way, two people could have done it. The second challenge was that while most all of the pre-drilled holes lined up, the sawdust residue inside the holes prevented a clean installation of the structure hardware. We ran a drill bit thru the holes as we went. After installation of the power port, we decided to go ahead and install a ceiling fan. Are we happy? You bet we are! From start to finish, this is a first class company to do business with. If you don’t have the time to go thru the process step by step, or don’t care to read and follow the instructions (which will take you longer to complete), then purchase the professional installation package. But, if you are like us and have lots of free uninterrupted time, this is a fun project to tackle together. Please look at our photos!

I purchased the Grill Gazebo XL as well as the 14’X10’ Cordova for our newly renovated back yard space. The Grill Gazebo XL, I put together by myself and just had a friend help me lift the roof section onto the frame. With the Cordova, I had 2 friends help and we had a pretty good system down by the end. Had it not started to rain it would’ve only taken us about 6 hours in total. Still, with the rain delay, it only took about 8 hours total time. We added a few accessories to each structure such as lights, a ceiling fan in the Cordova s well as a couple roll-up shades on the Cordova to help shield against the harsh sunlight when it’s low in the sky or a brisk wind. Between the included instructions and the app, assemble was pretty straightforward. Once you complete on section, it’s mostly all repetitive but don’t get carried away. Read the instructions and stick to them. All-in-all, I’m thoroughly impressed with the look and quality of both products. Time will tell how they hold up to the Midwest winter months but I don’t anticipate and issues.

This gazebo is well engineered and awesome for our patio in Florida. There are a lot of parts and can be a bit overwhelming at the beginning but follow the instructions to the tee and it all comes together nicely. Allow plenty of room to work and put all your hardware on a big table. Being in Florida I did add additional support by installing 4x4x8 post with 30" in concrete and used 5" lag bolts at the bottom and at 5' high.

This review is overdue by a month but I wanted to wait until I had the some other work around the pool area completed before I posted photos. Before I start, a local builder quoted me over $35K for a gazebo build – with a start date of fall of 2023. I searched online and Backyard Discovery had some great looking products. We selected the 16x12 Barrington Gazebo. First, the online purchasing experience easy and intuitive. (10/10) I selected the assembly option which is performed by a company called Go Configure (more on that later). Communication from Backyard Discovery was great and they were very clear and concise on delivery dates. (10/10) The actual delivery was performed exactly as promised and they even placed the boxes in my garage for safekeeping. The boxes are huge so unless you have helpers, I recommend you clear a space in your garage or other covered area in advance of delivery and have them put it there for you (if you can). Our driver was awesome and called in advance of delivery and then could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I wish I remembered the company to give them props. (10/10) Next, the assembly was scheduled through Go Configure. I read some pretty bad reviews online about them so I was worried. However, they scheduled the assembly a week or so after the gazebo was delivered and called me in advance to let me know a spot opened up earlier. I grabbed the opening. The folks at Go Configure were great with communication with both calls and texts. (10/10). The assembly team showed up as promised early on a Saturday. A team of 3 men were in the crew. They moved the enormous boxes to the assembly area from my garage and proceeded to unbox and set up. I looked out the window and in an hour or so the frame was up. In another hour a large portion of the roof was in place. In less than 4 hours they had completed the assembly. This team was outstanding. They were highly skilled and had done this many times before. I can’t say enough good things about the team and my experience with Go Configure. We are in the DFW area, so we may just have a really great territory for the company. I can’t say how it works in other regions but if you get the crew we got, it will be a flawless experience. They never stopped until the job was done and done way beyond my expectations. (10/10) We had a bunch of other expensive work done on our pool area before the gazebo went in but the amazing thing is that we are far more happy with the gazebo from Backyard Discovery than anything else done. I did put some pavers around the base supports to enhance the look a bit and installed a TV and ceiling fans but the gazebo construction made this a breeze. We get a ton of compliments and more importantly – a ton of use and enjoyment from the gazebo. Thank you Backyard Discovery and Go Configure for making this dream a reality. There is not one thing that could have been done better – truly flawless. By the way, this is not a paid review, we are a real family who randomly found Backyard Discovery online – I am as shocked as you may be that this went so perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased and assembled our gazebo this past summer and used it many times rain or shine. It was not difficult to assemble. The directions were clear and detailed. We have received many compliments on its appearance from our friends and neighbors. We are very pleased with the price compared to hiring someone to build one from scratch. We highly recommend this kit.

If you go slow and take your time it’s not that bad to put together, even for your average homeowner. It took me and a friend 1 full day and 3 half days (after work). That doesn’t include sorting the wood and removing plastic. That took a couple hours as well with 2 people. It also comes with a lot of the bits you will need. We got away with a small ladder until it came time for the 16’ panels. Then we needed a 6’ in the middle and we used a bench to step up on for the people holding the base. It took 2 husbands and 2 wives to get the roof up! It’s really heavy and you will definitely need at least 3 It really wasn’t that bad, and it felt good to be able to say I put that together for guests that come by. The only issue I have is even though we were able to get all the pilot holes to line up, we still had to make cuts for the metal roof to cover the entire frame. It actually states this in the directions multiple times. (If the wood is too long, cut it!) Not really what I like to see as the homeowner that took his time to make sure everything was lined up because I didn’t want to cut it. There’s also another part where it states is crucial to being able to get the roof on the frame. However, the area they give you to measure is in the air next to the frame over the shoulder area, so you are left kind of guessing if you’re in the right spot. Besides those , pretty straightforward install. Things sweet.
