I put these up on my house and when it rained all but 2 came down. They were very wet and had come loose because of the moisture. They might be okay in some parts of the country but not where you get rain and snow. I am disappointed that they did not work because it was such a great idea. And they are very expensive when you can't use them. I bought 4 packages and will be returning the unopened ones.

We attached the clips to the wood. The clips have been holding the lights well, none have fallen or slipped. I recommend the light clips.

Although it says light in the title, I wanted to test a variety of items to see which works best on the clips. Too much weight will definitely cause the clips to fall off the surface. I also tried it on both smooth and rough surfaces; it worked on the smooth surface but not on the rough surface. This may be a problem since the majority of my outdoor area is not smooth, and thus, the clips can only be used in a small selection of places. The clips seem strong, and the strips are easy to apply and remove. However, the strips did not stick very well for me.

I use Command hooks for many things but had never used them outdoors. Never did I I didn't think for a moment that these outdoor light clips would be such a flop in more ways than one. I use command hooks for quite a number of things in my home. I went through every single one of the double stick tabs included with these outdoor light clips since quite a number of them wouldn't stick to the PVC rail at all. After much time, trouble and frustration the lights were finally hung around my deck. A few days later I noticed that a few of the clips had actually broken at the back of the curve where the lights sit inside the clip. I assumed that maybe someone had accidentally pulled at the lights at that point and that's why the clip had broken - that was not the case. The deck had not been in use and I noticed a few more clips broke at the same place on the actual clip. This continues to happen. I should have read the reviews first. I'm not surprised to see that most of the reviews on these clips are negative. I'm really disappointed - these things aren't all that cheap and I spent a lot of time putting them all in place only to have to continually monitor them.

These clips allow you to place lights on virtually any surface without damage. I am using the clips to hang fairy light on my cover patio. It allows me to have a festive look without having to nail or staple onto my surface. I recommend these clips for use indoor or outdoor. It's a great safe way to hang lights without permanent holes left behind. Also, it you are a renter, this is the best bet to enjoy lights, without the landlord finding any damage.

I had a set of these that I bought 2 years ago and they stayed up with lights through two summers, and through the winter without the lights. I had to remove them since we got new gutters on the house. I put up new strips and followed all directions, and they won't stay up more than an hour. I've broken 2 lightbulbs on my patio from them falling down. I took the backing off of one strip just to test it with my fingers and there is zero adhesive on them. Seems like a lot of complaints on here about the same thing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My girlfriend decided to redo the porch this summer and of course, that involved multiple strands of bright colors lights. These were the right tool for the job, giving her ability to hang lights where we hadn't had a way to. 5-10 minutes of my time, and she easily hung them right behind me. Had a few storms come through, high winds and heavy rain, and they're still in place. I think we'll leave them up and use them for Halloween and Christmas too.

I must have received a defective product. I followed the instructions and waited before hanging my string lights. Within a few hours of hanging, several fell. It rained the following night and they all fell down. Very disappointed.
