We have only every used the original April Fresh Downy. Picked up the bottle yesterday, used it today and thought maybe I grabbed the wrong brand. It smells horrible. I am now rewashing my load of laundry with the hopes that the strong perfume scent will come out. What a disappointment.

I've been using Downy April Fresh for what feels like all of my life because I loved the smell of it. The last two bottles I purchased were not the same product. The fresh smell was missing, and I don't even like the way it smells any more. I will be looking for another product, and hopefully I will find something I liked as well as the one you had before you changed the formula.

This new formula smells horrible... It's so strong and has a very unpleasant odor. I don't understand why the scent must be changed. I really miss the comforting scent from 20 yrs ago. I will not be buying Downy any more and I have been a loyal user for many years. Please bring back the original scent!!!!

PLEASE RETURN THE ORIGANAL SCENT BACK TO APRIL FRESH THE NEW SCENT SMELLS NOTHING LIKE THE OLD SCENT AND IS A VERY HARSH SCENT, IM A FAITHFUL CUSTOMER FOR MANY YEARS. WHEN I PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT I BUY OUT THE WHOLE SHELVE OF THEM . PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD SCENT!!!!!!

This downy liquid fabric smells so so good! My mother in law uses this and this is when I started using it! It has the best smell I've ever smelled! The clothes smells amazing for long time and looks really clean as well! The price isn't bad for the quality you get! Definitely recommend.

I've used April Fresh Downy since a small child so at 40 years and I had to return the newest bottle I purchased because the scent is so unbearable. It's way to strong, smells nothing like the previous scent and causes my laundry to smell awful! The previous scent had a nice, soft scent and this is very offensive and offputting. I am hopeful, with enough complaints, you will change back to the previous scent. I'm trying a different scent, but I will switch brands if necessary because the new scent makes my home smell terrible and I can't stand to be in it after washing clothes. Why such a strong scent???? Please change back!

A few years ago, Downy changed their beloved original April Fresh scent into some sickly, perfumy mess and I was devastated. However, they only changed the liquid, the dryer sheets still smelled like the original formula. I just got back from Dollar General and they now changed the scent of the dryer sheets too. WHY ON EARTH would they do this??? The original scent of April Fresh was loved by so many. Why wouldn't they just make a "new scent" and leave the beloved original scent available for purchase. Did a bunch of men in suits, who probably never did laundry themselves, make this decision?

I have used Downy April Fresh fabric softener for years but since they added the Fabric Protect it smells too strong and powdery! I can't use it - please change it back. I've tried the freshness beads but they don't soften the clothes. For me and others to take the time to write a review on a fabric softener must tell you there is something wrong with the new product. Please change it back!!

Hands down the best fabric softener out there! I can't get enough of this scent . It leaves my clothes feeling so fresh , soft and clean. It's the best laundry scent period. I especially love using it on my bedding! You can't beat the price you get a lot in the easy to pour plastic container . I really wish they'd bring back the intense version!
