Tried and Disappointed

We tried this on a whim, excited about a "smaller" pan of lasagna. I think this is the worst lasagna I have ever eaten. And I love just about anything with cheese and noodles in it. The nuggets of italian sausage were odd and it lacked a creamy cheese layer and enough sauce.

NOT as good as their Pizza Lasagna

We had been buying the Rana Pizza Lasagna and absolutely loved it. The last time I went to Sam's I picked this one up and didn't realize it wasn't pizza lasagna but figured it would be just as good since the other one was so good, but it was absolutely awful. Even my son-in-law didn't want to eat it and he will eat anything. The sausage has a very peculiar flavor. So disappointed and after looking it seems like SAMS isn't carrying the Pizza Lasagna any longer.

I'm SO very disappointed with this purchase. Preparing it was very simple. Once it sat after removing it from the oven, I sectioned it off for 6 servings. The serving was a food slide that revealed lots of the seasoned tomato sauce, layer of cheese, pasta and more recatta cheese on the bottom later than needed in such a small dish. The meat? The meat was a form of beef or sausage to which I'm not accustomed. It was peanut sized but it had the texture of the center of a musketeers candy bar. A person with no teeth would love the texture. There's little chewing required. The last layer, ricotta cheese even has the soft peanut sized 'meatballs' in it. I can't comment of the flavor or taste. It didn't make an impression. I won't buy it again. Disappointed. 😒

Great tasting lasagna and superior packaging.

The lasagna was much better than I expected. The tray inside was totally encased in a sealed thick plastic bag so that even after many months in the freezer, there was no ice buildup on the food. It also did not have the over seasoned bite that most prepared foods have. I would buy it again.

NOT like in the photo on the box

In the pan, the food measures only a little over an inch tall, so it's NOT thick and delicious as in the photo. Further the sauce and cheese is so sparse that in most spots it was merely 3 layers of noddle atop one another. For nearly the same price at double the amount of food, we're probably better off buying the Stouffer's frozen Lasagna. Know I will never purchase this product again.

This lasagna was a whole disappointment. it came in teeny tiny and the meat taste fake. I paid $15 thinking it was going to be at least family size and it wasn't it was personal size. never ever ever again.

Authentic Italian

I loved this. Not "American" lasagna so don't expect it to be. I was married to a Sicilian so I know... just enjoy the flavors and the difference. It's delicious. I did find mine to be a bit lacking in sauce in places so having some extra sauce is never against the rules in an Italian home. In fact it's required at every meal to have a bowl of sauce on the table. Grate a little cheese. Pour a little wine. Break a little bread. Perfecto!

Just Like Homemade!

I wasn't sure if I'd like this or not, but there was only one way to find out. I found out, and it's really good! It reminds me a lot of homemade. It can either be microwaved or heated in the oven. Because it's already oven baked, microwaving for 8 minutes works just fine. It goes great with a Caesar salad or any other kind of vegetable. You could probably easily convince someone that you made it yourself from scratch!

Not even close to the real thing...

This is called lasagna but really is just a poor approximation to what I remember lasagna being like. Meat - it's just small chunks of sausage and beef, exactly what you find in a cheap gas stop pizza with very little taste. Sauce - too much and tasting like tomato paste straight out of the can. Pasta - thick and a bit chewy. Cheese - always loved the slightly browned mozzarella on a good lasagna while this "cheese" was bland, couldn't even tell what it was. Sadly, I'm going to throw out the rest, not only for the lack of taste but lack of meat.
