We had used a sleep number bed for over 20 years and found that it simply wasn’t giving us the support we needed. We have had the Sterns and Foster for a month now and our sleep has never been better. We would recommend Sterns and Foster to anyone wanting a superior sleep experience.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mattress is much thicker than my old firm Beautyrest mattress. Even though I ordered a soft, it isn't quite as soft as I'd have liked. The memory foam top lets me sink in but, I miss the bounce of the old mattress. But, the proof is in the sleeping and I don't have any of the aches and pains that my old mattress gave me. I do sleep much better on this S and F mattress, no doubt about it. I also like the handles built into this mattress, which my old one didn't have. Important note: this mattress is much thicker than my old and had to replace the old 9" foundation with a thinner 5" one, which I ordered from Stearns and Foster. The old foundation with new mattress had me way off the floor! The new foundation is better than the old one, in any case.

I'm a stomach sleeper so was looking for a firmer mattress, but my wife is a back/side sleeper. She likes a firmer mattress too, but wanted something that still provided comfort with the support. This mattress fits the bill without breaking the bank. Would recommend.

I had major back surgery in 1999. Bolts, plates, rods… I also have 5 herniated discs in my neck. My docs have been trying for years to help me sleep better and for longer than a few hours at a time. I was down to ONE position of lying only on my right side and waking to a dead shoulder and frequent headaches and backaches. I haven’t slept flat on my back since before my back surgery and injury. In our spare bedroom I had my older S&F Estate Mattress. I decided to test it and slept on this for 2 weeks to see if it would help. NO PAIN. As a result, I returned the new mattress and replaced with the Estate Firm Pillow Top. I'm about a month in and NO PAIN AT ALL. No hip pain, no lower back pain, I finally wake up without being sore. I will never purchase another brand. The quality just can't be matched.

It's obviously solidly built, with no sag on the edges and no movement when one person gets up or lies down. Somehow, the mattress is also comfortable for side sleepers (me) and stomach and back sleepers (my wife). We deliberately didn't get the pillow top, because we have any body indentations, and that's worked for us; no sag or indents anywhere. I keep saying to my wife, in shock, "Wow, finally, something that actually does what it says it will." We love the thing. Great sleep, no body pains. Our corgi likes it pretty well, too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The delivery was fast and easy. The mattress was better than expected, especially in terms of the outer materials. We had tried to use a Saatva firm memory foam bed previously, but it started to get too soft after only a few months. The springs in this bed make it feel much sturdier. Time will tell, but I am guessing it will last much longer. Going back to a spring mattress, I was most worried about motion transfer, but it hasn't been too bad.
