Looking forward to more great service with these tires

I just replaced our 2007 Sprinter's LTX M/S 2 tires with the Defender LTX (it seems the LTX M/S 2 was replaced by these), and wanted to mention that the M/S 2's were really a great set of tires. There was still a little tread left above the wear bars at 111,000 miles over five years of driving in all sorts of Texas weather. I also ride a road bicycle and am always pleased with Michelin's bicycle tires too.

Defender

These tires are great night and day from my other tires. Live in North East Ohio along the lake. These tires have great snow traction and preform great on wet roads. would get them again and recommend them to friends and family. Got 4 new tires in November 2016

Very good tire, but DEEPER TREAD needed for next gen

This has been an excellent tire. The one thing it needs is deeper tread. Michelin, if you are listening, your competitors are offering up to 20/32 inch tread depth and you are at 13.5/32 inch on the LT285/70/17 Defender LTX. If I see another tire with that much more tread depth, there is a good chance I will purchase it. Please, more tread depth to be competitive in the current LT tire market for the next edition of this tire. At least 1/2 inch.

Nice quiet ride.

I've had these tires on my F150 for a couple of months now and they are the quietest, smoothest riding tire I have ever owned. My truck is 9 years old and I've gone through 2 sets of tires from another manufacturer in 100,000 kms. With 115,000 km wear warranty on these Michelins, I'm sure I will be replacing the truck long before the tires wear out. The higher load rating is a bonus as I use my truck for towing and hauling about half of the time.

Nothing Better Than New Tires

We got these 2 seasons ago to replace the tires on our Explorer just before a road trip from BC to Alberta. The tires wear and ride much nicer than the Ford O/E tires. The deep treads were great in heavy rain. After 30,000 they are mostly as new … we change to snow tires for 4-5 months of the year. Ford should use these as their O/E tires …

New Feeling on the tire

This tire is installed today to replace the stock one. When I drove my car back home, I've got a new feeling, just like I was driving a new car. The new tire made the car feel more comfortable, like sitting on a firm-but-soft spring, very good! I am ready for the winter season for ski, will provide more updates for the highway and light snow conditions.

Best light truck general purpose tire available

I have had 5+ sets of these on 2 different suburbans, 1) f150 std cab longbox, 1) Chevrolet dually cab-chassis with dump and snow-plow, and now on my '14 Superduty Kingranch. If my continued patronage of this specific tire doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what..I am in Wisconsin, and snow and ice traction are important. These tires are excellent in snow and ice, without quick wear like a winter tire 80k/set. Ride comfort is outstanding. I replaced the Michelin AT tires with these on the superduty, and they are 10 times better for traction and comfort. If you are wondering if these tires are worth the extra money, they absolutely are!

More than happy with these tires

I recently purchaced a 2017 Chevy Colorado. The tires that came on it were possibly ok can't really evaluate them as I replace them with the Michelins promptly after purchasing the truck. The reason I replaced the original tires was due to previously having LTX tires on my previous truck that lasted 11years with no problems, a smooth and quiet ride and excellent performance. I am very happy with your products and will continue to purchase them. Bill Kashmark

Well made tire

I have been employed by Ford dealer for many years and have experience with many different tire brands. Michelin tires have always been the best built tires in my experience. The initial quality is very consistent.Today I installed 4 MICHELIN® Defender® LTX® M/S 245/65R17 tires on my 2008 Ford Explorer. I used Hunter GSP9700 balancer. All tires had Road Force Measurement less than 11 lbs. By moving tires on the rim, I managed to drop Road Force Measurements to 2 lbs,9 lbs, 4 lbs and 8 lbs and matched front tires to 0 lbs Net Pull. And this is pretty heavy truck tire. The Road Force limit for P-metric and Euro-metric tires is 26 lbs.

Disappointed

When I originally purchased my truck it had the LTX MS. They lasted a total of two years and about 35000k when they were so weather cracked I was afraid of them blowing. As the truck was 2 years old had them replaced under warranty. Three years later and 45000k, again they were weather cracked. As they no longer make the straight LTX , I had to have them replaced with the defender LTX MS. They pick up stones like no ones business. If it wasn't for the mud flaps I would be repainting the bottom half of the truck. A terrible amount of road noise to boot. They do perform almost as well in winter , but not as well as the original LTX. These tires have been on a year, and if I have to replace them again in a year or two, I may be navigating out of the Michelin line..
