Bought new Michelin 18” Defender LTX M/S2 tires for a Ford F250 to replace Michelins that had come with the truck. My old tires were smooth as silk and I actually got more miles from them than the warranty. However, the new tires vibrated badly, so I had them rebalanced twice, with no improvement. Michelin replaced the tires under warranty, but the new tires also vibrate badly. I took them to another shop that had a road force balancer and paid out of my own pocket to have them rebalanced again. There was some improvement, but there’s still a significant amount of vibration. I'm very disappointed in these tires.

This is the best tire on my vehicle! I bought my Volvo XC60 with Continentals on it, they were okay but got very noisy as they aged. While most tires do get louder with age, I got fed up and replaced them with Michelins that were supposedly specifically for Crossover vehicles. Those were quiet and comfortable but didn't last but 3 years. Now replacement time came again, and I really didn't like the choices for decent 'Crossover' tires especially for the prices and wear factor. Then I remembered back when I had my Land Rovers they both had the LTX tires. Those wore like iron, great traction in any weather, and never had vibration issues. I was delighted to see these were available for the Volvo. Now living in Florida I really had no concern about traction in the snow but, wet weather (we get some heavy rains) between the all wheel drive and these tires wet roads were almost as if they were dry. Handling was every bit as good as it ever was. I knew due to the blocky tread design they weren't going to be quiet, but to my surprise there was only a slight hum, and with the unibody construction of the Volvo noise transfer is very much a part of life. After having driven this for over a year with these tires, I wish I had put these on years ago. I'm sure these tires will outlast my ownership of the vehicle.

Michelin in my opion are THE BEST TIRE on the market. Have had them on all my vehicles. Replaced the set on my GMC Pick/up (daily driver) after 75,000 + miles with a new set of Michelins, and put the old set on the farm Pick/up last year. Also have them on the Wife's Yukon and they have 60,000 + miles on them and still have plenty of tread left. You won't get that kind of ware out any of your competitors!

This is my 2nd set of Defender LTX M/S tires for my 2008 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. I'm surprised to read that the latest reviews all comment about the road noise! One of the reasons I love these tires is because they are very quite!!! I've never had any road noise with either set of tires. I used to work out of state and had to make a 350 mile round trip each week. My first set held up so well that I basically had to replace them due to dry rot from age and not from wear. They work well in the rain and don't hydroplane easily.

Bought these tires for my vehicle and after only 31000 miles, was back at the tire dealership shopping for new tires due to the excessive treadwear. This was the second set, both of which came way short of the mileage rating. Have been a life long purchaser of Michelin tires due to the quality and ride but these were a huge let down. Grateful for having a terrific dealer that was interested in trying to find a suitable replacement in a different brand. Not what I expected from Michelin.

My Michelin's are a great performer. They hug the highway and take curves at high speed with ease. I can trek through snow and rain with confidence as tires give me traction to pull through an intersection or the bite to stop on a dime. I love, love, love my Michelin's.

Vacation this year was to Florida and as we were driving through Georgia we encountered a series of very heavy rain storms. the rain was heavy enough to slow traffic to 30 miles and below on I-75. when we got to our destination for that night the second vehicle that we were traveling with was remarking about all the hydroplaning that they had experienced. we were surprised because we had not experienced any even though there were times there was water on the highway. I attribute this to my Michelin tires and I am glad that they always keep me and my family safe.

although i've only had this set of michelin ltx m/s tires for less than six months, what i've noticed so far is the smoothness and quietness of the ride they seem to provide. obviously, at less than six months old, there is no visible ware whatsoever. i'm happy with the tires and if they give me close to their warrantied life i'll likely buy another set.

I installed the MICHELIN® Defender® LTX® M/S tires in my 1999 Land Cruiser a couple of weeks ago. The last set I had was the MICHELIN® LTX® M/S which lasted me 81K miles. I was waiting for these tires for 5 months as Michelin paused production of them. I read all the reviews everywhere and I am glad at the end I decided to continue with the Michelin as I have on my other 2 cars. People complain for noise. I could not hear anything. Yes these tires might not be perfect for snow but they seem to be good on wet surfaces. Coming from old beat up tires you can really tell the difference on the ride.

Have used these Michelin Defender LTX M+S tires for 12 months now on my work car, a Honda CRV , 2009 model. They are 225- 65R 17 tires with about 8000 km so far. The best ride of all the tires we have used so far. We use Michelin Latitude x-ice tires on our winter rims. We have purchased seven sets of tires from Michelin since 2009. Three sets of winter ice tires and four sets of Defenders. ( 3 sets of T + H and 1 set of LTX M/ S ). The LTX M/S are by far my favourite tire. They look great too ! Three vehicles are all running Michelin tires. Never had a problem yet. You pay a bit more for good quality, but get great piece of mind and much more safety on the road.
