Westinghouse 3600 Generator

I purchased this generator primarily for use with my RV while camping. The generator has lived up to, and beyond, my expectations. From easy setup, to easy startup, to ease of use in general, I would highly recommend this generator. I look forward to using this generator for years to come

Simple set up.

I've never owned a generator and am not knowledgable of engines at all. But the manual was clear and the setup was easy. The only issue I had was the battery was connected to the terminals, but there was a plug that had to be attached . It took me a while to find it since it wasn't mentioned in the manual. But that was the only issue I had.

Great features and power for the price.

In the Houston area we have lost power for hours or days 3 time inthe last 4 months and we needed the power for four day power lost for Beryl. Of course it took so long to get here we did not get to use it, but we have it for next time. It runs so nice, uses gas or LP and electric start. Just read the instructions, filled with oil and gas then pushed the start button.

Easy setup and start

Bought this as insurance for power failures at home. The unit was easy to setup - the rollcage makes it easy to tilt and roll when you need access to the underside (to install the feet and wheels). Adding oil is not convenient and a better location for an oil-add opening would be helpful. I did a trial run with propane and it started in a few seconds using the remote start. It runs smoothly but I have not had it under load yet.

Quality assurance & instructions lacking

The generator starts right up with 1 or 2 pulls. It runs smooth and fairly quiet. Getting to that point required a little more work than expected. First, there were loose bolts that required tightening. Second, the generator arrives with "support brackets" that must be removed prior to operation. The instruction packet has a picture of support brackets. The problem is the packet doesn't identify where the brackets are located and the ones in the picture don't match the actual brackets. After communication with Westinghouse I was able to locate and remove them. Additionally, although the WGen3600 comes with a wheel kit and handle, the WGen3600v model does not...would have appreciated that being in the description.

Got everything I need

I bought this to have when the power goes out but I have not had a chance to use it yet. It does have everything case of a power outage. I have no doubt in my mind that this is going to work great and I will be very happy with my purchase. I will come back and update once I've had a chance to use it.

Great Layout of Features

I just purchased this model to power my refrigerator and any other home appliances (low wattage) including my television during California power outages. With this much power I can add other devices as needed to keep things going at home. The control panel is easy to understand and includes outlets for 120V AC 20A, 120V AC 30A twistlock and 120V AC 30A travel trailer too. Very satisfied with this product.

Just in time for the storm season

Started up as soon as I put gas in it. The only thing wrong is where they put the PROPAINE LINE WHEN SHIPPING THE UNIT. I THOUGH IT WAS MISSING IN SHIPPING. BUT FOUND OUT IT WAS NOT. IT WAS PUT UP OUT OF SIGHT, WERE NO ONE IN THE RIGHT MIND LOOK IN THAT PLACE. (ON TOP OF THE MOTOR), DID NOT FIND OUT TILL I RAN THE MORTOR. When I turned off the motor it raddled, Then I found it, but it was too late. The plastic knob melted and can not use it. Plus the battery came loose in shipment. and was bouncing around in the carton. and the negative side of the battery post was cracked and the bolt was striped.

WGen3600DFc

The box the unit came in was pristine. I've tested this unit and found it easy to start with all 3 starting options, and easy to use the duel fuel. I have not been able to determine if this unit produces a good sine wave or not - important if using the generator to power certain devices that require a good clean sine wave. I haven't found anything in the documentation that helps me determine that. So that's a little worrisome. The price was great. The first power outage will determine if this was truly a good purchase.

Wgen3600DF

2 Day shipping from Acme Tools. Easy to put the wheels and feet on. Started 2nd attempt with remote starter on propane. Ran for an hour without load, changed oil. Ran for another hour with about 750watt load. Changed oil, ready for use. Remote start and push button start is definitely a plus. First oil change was interesting. I used the oil plug on the opposite side of the control panel. Oil dripped on the frame and into the catch pan. Oil ran down the frame onto the garage floor. Made quite a mess. Second oil change I notice a 2nd oil drain near the oil dipstick. This time to avoid the mess I formed a trough out of aluminum foil to direct the oil into the catch pan. The frame needs to be located to allow the oil to flow directly into the catch pan. Never heard of a small engine with 2 oil drains. Noise is almost the same as my other Champion 4000w. Both within 1DB of each other at 20 feet facing the muffler (approx. 69DB). Overall, the value is worth the cost.
