Must have Generator

This generator is exactly what I needed and it was so easy to assemble the wheel kit. They give you everything you need to start it right out of the box except for the fuel. Oil, funnel, tools, manual etc. The quick start instructions were easy to understand and they provide visuals to assist you. I am a 40yr old women and was able to assemble the generator and get it running with-in an hour. It also has a maintenance chart so you know what you have to do and when to keep the generator in its best condition. If I ever need another generator I know who to go to. Already recommended it to all my family and friends.

WGen3600DFcv review. great except for no wheel kit

I bought the WGen3600DFcv on 4/6/2024. The second day after delivery I checked; spark plug gap (no adjustment needed), air filter, oil drain plug and maintenance access in general. Open frame generators allow nice access for maintenance. After filling with oil and connecting a propane tank with the included supply line I had minor issues starting. The trick seemed to be to choke for a brief period when trying to start. I've only run the generator a couple of times and only with a heat gun for a load but it seems to work great. A bit loud but to be expected from an engine with less than 6 inches of exhaust. Once my tests were done and I knew this would work for me I tried unsuccessfully to order the wheel kit. Per multiple posts the wheel kit seems to have been out of stock for 2 years but also per posts the WGen5300 Accessory Wgen5300Dfc Wheel Kit will fit save the handle is 2 inches too wide. I've ordered that kit to see if I can get wheels on the 3600 and plan to cut the handle to the correct size. Aside from the wheel kit I'm very happy with this generator. I knocked off a star for the unavailability of the wheel kit.

Solves the gasoline-storage problem

Was delighted to find a brand-name generator fueled by propane. After a brief run-in period, mine will be stored in readiness for the eventual sustained power outage, when we will use it mainly to operate lights, communication equipment, and the furnace blower in our home.

Excellent generator!

I bought this 4 years ago after Hurricane Irma but didn't need it until recently with Ian. The battery was dead, which is surprising after that long. Thankfully was able to start using external power source to start motor. Performed very well overall, fuel efficient, and quieter than expected.

Solid Generator with Some Annoying Issues

I bought this in anticipation of the public safety power shut-offs in California this summer and fall. We had a couple of them and it has worked well so far. There is a design flaw in the placement of the bolt to drain the oil. The bolt is only a couple inches off the ground so that to change the oil I had to put it up on cinderblocks in order to get a pan underneath it. I had to watch a guy on YouTube to figure that out. Additionally, the oil drainage bolt has a metal brace just underneath so you cannot easily put a funnel directly under it and you're all but guaranteed to spill oil on the ground. Bad design. The manual also has outdated photographs in it so the instructions for hooking up the battery show a completely different configuration. Outdated photos and graphics appear pretty regularly creating unnecessary stress when trying to set it up the first time. One additional con is that the remote start only works with gas, but not with propane. You won't learn that until you read the manual. Other than those things, I've enjoyed the generator and it seems solidly made. If I had to do it all over again I would have bought one with more standard outlets rather than just two. I run extension cords and it is annoying see those other outlets sitting there unused and recognizing that I am not taking advantage of all the power that the generator has to offer. But that was my mistake.

Easy to Operate

We bought this almost a month ago and it arrived in great condition. Supplied oil in the crankcase, filled with fuel, hooked up battery, turned the ignition on, pushed start button and it immediately started. it runs very smoothly. Very Pleased! We would highly recommend this unit.

Really nice electric start dual fuel

I got the dual fuel to increase my chances of getting fuel in case of emergency, the generator is super nice w onboard battery charger and push button, pull, or keychain remote start. The tool is well laid out and easy to use. The unit comes w everything you need except fuel and cords, even the battery is included. The generator is reasonably compact and easy to move w a built in handle and wheels. The wheels can be easily removed for a smaller footprint. The generator started easily on its first start. I purchased this generator based on the features and the Westinghouse brand name. I would purchase this again if neccessary.

Great product with reasonable price

I bought it because I need a backup power for computer equipment, since I work from home and UPS units does not provide sufficient run time. I was looking for reasonably priced mid-power dual fuel generator since I have had negative experience with deteriorating gazoline left in the generator before. This generator perfectly fits my needs.

Propane, price, and remote start good, pulsing bad

We use this to charge out batteries in an off grid situation. Now we don't have to deal with gas, or going outside to start and to stop the generator. Had it plumbed to a 250 gallon tank, so we don't have to deal with portable propane tanks either. Had to have 10 PSI from the tank to the generator shed, then used a normal low pressure (11in water column) regulator from there to the generator. Works fine generally, but pulses/revs for a few minutes on initial start up. Not sure why. Hopefully doesn't lead to major malfunction.
