This pergola is so beautiful in my backyard, it's a delight sitting under it, even better looking at it everyday. Not to mention the countless compliments I get. Very well built, love the electric panel attached, I had my electrian add electric and it worked exactly as it should. So completely happy with this purchase!

We purchased this pergola last summer. We are very pleased with the materials, the ease of construction and the beauty of this pergola. We’ve had several before and none of them were of this quality. The size was perfect for our deck. We added some polycarbonate sun panels for this summer season intense sun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I re-stained it with a waterproofing stain with a color of our choice. There was nothing wrong with the stain it came with but, since we had to waterproof it, we chose a different color, and it looks beautiful! We have not anchored it yet, but it is holding steady to some strong winds. The pergola is kind of heavy, once assembled, and we are trying to figure out how to lift it up so we can place the plates/footers and anchor it. Love it thus far!

We are happy with the pergola. It takes 3 people to put some of it together and it's not an easy task! Strong structure and we added adjustable sun shade and curtains. The coating/stain, however, is an attractant for wasps. They started peeling strips away. And, of course, it attracts wood bees. Other than that we are pleased with the outcome!

We shopped around and when we saw the Backyard Discovery Somerville Pergola, we knew it would give just the look we wanted for our patio. It looks like it was custom made for our space. It took some time and concentration to assemble but the finished product was worth it.

From the great instructions to the final result, this pergola is exactly the thing I was hoping for. It has added a whole new dimension to my yard and expanded the living space. It has a electrical outlet so I can plug in lights ,margarita machine... I had the company assemble it and was done within 2 hours. They were wonderful. Every day after work I spend about 3 hours there enjoying it! My only regret is not getting it SOONER! If u like it on website, you will love it in your yard. YOU WONT REGRET IT! I just bought this a few weeks ago and my husband and brother in law put it together yesterday. It took them about 6 hours to do which I think could have been done in less time if the pieces had some kind of labeling on it. It was kind of confusing to figure out which piece the directions were talking about. Also some of the holes didn’t line up with the other ones when connecting it together. Overall though it is a very nice and sturdy pergola and a perfect addition to our patio.

It went together nicely with the help of 3 adults. It was solid and very well made. I believe that this helped us get top dollar for our home. I miss it greatly and only wish I could have a new one for my new home. I would not hesitate to purchase this as it is made to last. We put a waterproof wood sealant on it per from the manufacturer. I got so many compliments on this beautiful structure. You will not be disappointed in your purchase. I was happy that everything went together without issue. All the screw holes aligned perfectly.

We bought the Somerville 14 x 10 Pergola about a month ago as a complement to our recently installed brick paver patio and we absolutely love it. The design and size are perfect for our needs, providing just the right amount of sunlight filtering and shade during the brightest, sunny afternoons. Since we have a front porch with space for dining, we decided to make the patio a space for sectional lounging and we've spent countless days and evenings her ever since. The gray finish looks natural, the quality of the wood and the construction components are high, the assembly was straightforward (2 people over the length of an afternoon) and there were no issues with the shipping or delivery. The built in electrical outlets are a bonus. Highly recommended.
