I do love this trash can, as it allows me to collect recyclables out of view while not taking up much more space than my old trash can. My only wishes are that one side was larger than the other since I feel we aren't filling our tall kitchen trash bags to capacity anymore and I also wish there was a way to "hook" the bag on better so it doesnt shift around when I put it in the can. Overall I am very happy though (once I trained my husband and son on which side is for trash and which is for plastics... Slight learning curve remembering the color designations ). Attractive looking and functional.

Overall, this container is bigger than a regular trash can, but each bin is smaller, so needs to be emptied more often. However, it feels sturdy in construction, the lids open and close easily, and it's great for sorting recycling, composting, or whatever you need. I'm happy with it.

I was trying to find something with bigger compartments - but I took a chance on this and so glad I did. Each compartment is about 8gallons with its own bucket w/handle. I line the garbage side with a 13 gallon trash bag for ease & less mess, and use the other side as is for recyclables. The 8 gallon size holds plenty of refuse - and our family of 3 (2 parents & a teenage boy) empties it 1-2 times a week. Recycling side lasts longer between emptying unless we eat out more. It’s sturdy, good quality, and the pedals make sure you don’t have to worry about batteries or malfunctions. It comes with stickers for color coding compartments if you want to use. Lids close tightly and seal in any odors. Matches the black & stainless appliances in our kitchen perfectly. So glad I bought it! I will be buying another to hold pet food.

I've only had a couple weeks but so far so good. The step touch feature is awesome. The lid is not soft closure but if you slowly close it that will eliminate most of the noise. If not it's not that loud anyway. Having a bin for regular waste and one for recyclables is what I needed.

8 gallons per side is a little small. The trash fills up fast. The trash bag is hard to synch around the can and insert without coming undone so we use a large rubber band to hold the bag to the can. There is no way to open the lid without using the foot pedal. A handle would be great.

First of all, I need to tell you I bought this bin online from Walmart a few years ago when it first came out. It's been very handy despite the fact that it is made of very thin "stainless steel" looking metal. I've punched out dents on a regular basis. Just before the holidays this year, the left bin pedal fell off after it was stepped on with normal force. It was constructed with a piece of plastic and a thin metal strip. The plastic pedal holder broke and was unrepairable, and I've had it too long to send it back. I went to the local hardware store with the broken piece and pedal to see if I could get something to fix it. A hardware associate looked at it carefully and showed me a package with four pieces of similar size metal picture hangers that he thought I could use to fix it. It took me a week to get it fixed after trying several ways to rig up a repair and glue it in place, but I finally used two of the hangers with holes on the inside and fit two plastic screw anchors into the holes to keep them inside the bin and then used bonding adhesive to glue the metal to the plastic pedal on the outside. I clamped it down and left it for 24 hours. Voila, it worked and one month later it is still working. I thought for sure it would have to be replaced. I'm just warning buyers that the pedal construction is flimsy, but the bin itself is very handy for single stream recycling. I especially like the fact that each bin has a removable "bucket" to take outside to the large bins.

Received this can today and even though it was very well packaged it has 4 big dents in it. I will be returning because the stainless steel is very thin so no doubt denting will continue to be a problem. Sure, I could hammer it out with a rubber mallet but for $110. I shouldn't have to.

This does work well for us except that the bags will not stay wrapped around the individual bins without having something to hold them. After looking at other reviews, we followed the suggestion of putting Velcro around each bin to hold the bags. It works ok.

Great product came exactly as pictured and discribed. I love the footprint size; still small enough that it isn't taking up the whole kitchen. Great for recyclable and regular household trash. Have to cut cereal boxes to fit comfortable. Only downside I have to this trash bin is the size of the foot step. I wish it was a little bigger sometimes it can cramp your foot if not wearing shoes.

The stepping part on the right side of the trash can is having trouble working. Just took it out of the box yesterday and the right side that you step on, you can put all of your weight on it and the lid takes forever to open and the black piece comes off the trash can
