I purchase a 24 pound bag of solid ice. Within 24 hours I had a bag with approximately 15 pounds of liquid ice. How does this happen?

I buy this very often. Very large bag that takes up whole shelf in freezer but I use ice daily in my drinks so I go through it fast. They used to have a 16 lb bag which is still big but this 24 lb bag is really big. I'm just glad they have it and I can get it a curbside pickup

I was excited to see that Sam's Club carried bagged Ice it was on my list to purchase at the local grocery store. But as I was exiting the club I noticed the large Ice machines and quickly made the purchase. The price was more than fair comparatively speaking. It saved me a trip to the grocery store.

Been getting ice from Sam’s for years but they seem to be doing something to add air to ice causing it to melt very fast. Doesn’t even last in my stainless steel tumbler. Used to last all day with my water but now I’m getting more ice every 3-4 hours
