It had a sweet taste but not overtly as if sweeteners have been added. I had it in salads, as one of my side vegetables with lunch and dinner. As fresh as canned vegetables can be. I was impressed by how firm they still were. Some canned and bagged vegetables can get quite soggy. I would purchase again.

When cooking and using it as a side dish, I like to add a little bit of butter, salt, and a pinch of sugar to bring out the natural sweetness to enhance the flavor. I do prefer Fresh or frozen corn to eat on its own and use canned corn in dishes but it does have a good flavor to eat by itself if I need to use it.
