But my husband insisted on making crawfish cornbread for thanksgiving, it was AMAZING!! The sweetness added some contrast to the savory and hint of spice to the cornbread. We once tried other(s) brands because the supermarket didn't have anymore of Del Monte's Fresh Cut Golden Kernel Corn but they neither have the same taste or looked the same. Don't let the can fool you, this is the real deal when it comes to fresh corn. This is so easy to use and so versatile in so many recipes. It's also great on it's own as a side, especially with mashed potatoes (you know what I mean, you've done it too!). I always keep a few cans on hand.
