We LOVE it

We purchased this item after seeing one at a friends house. We LOVE it! Not only is it great to climb and hang from, but we had a nylon parachute that fits perfectly over it for an instant fort! Easy to assemble, as my 8 year old daughter was my helper. Took about an hour. Must use three people to move, but otherwise an amazing purchase. One piece arrived with rust, but was promptly sent by Lifetime and was easily replaced. Children ages 4, 8 & 11 love it.

Picked this up a week ago from the site to store. Got it home and my husband and I put it together in about 2 hours. Just one tip: don't tighten the screws all the way, until it is all put together, you will see why I say this as you put yours together. The kids came home from school and were thrilled about having it to play on. The only con that I see is I wish it were a bit bigger. Having my three children ages 9, 6, and 4 playing on it at the same time they need more space to play.

Wonderful Outdoor Play Addition

We bought this item for our children ages 9 and 2. We had looked at wooden and metal swing sets and then found this item. I had previously tried to order it online and it was sold out and just recently was available again online. It took about 3 hours to set up(one the previous night with my two children helping and two the next day with my husband helping), the directions weren't 100% acurate on set-up but by looking at the picture and seeing what we had already done it came through. Make sure that you have an extended 1/2 socket wrench(or just plain 1/2" wrench) and the 3/16 allen wrench is included. Do not tighten any of the connections completely until the end. The directions tell you to tighten securely throughout but if you do this you will have to go back and loosen the connections so that you can get everything to fit just right. The bottom connections are a little tricky and it's helpful if you have two people...so that one person can squeeze it together and the other can put the second washer on and thread the locking nut in place. It is very sturdy we all had to try it out after set-up. Both the children can play on it equally even with the seven year difference. Good value for the money. Hope to enjoy for many years.

Assembling it will turn your hair gray

The idea is nice, but after 2 months I still haven't assembled the darn thing. The bolts are way too short, the bars can't be put flat on top of each other, it's extremely difficult to put together, nothing wants to stay in place or come together. The low bolts are 1/2" TOO SHORT, there's no space for washers there when hand aligned, there's barely any space to even put a washer on... Extremely laborious and frustrating to put together. I've remodeled 3 houses in the last 2 years, and this is by far the most challenging task I ever had to do. Kudos to 400+ reviewers who put it together, you guys are my heroes, I don't have the nerves for this garbage.

great for a three year old

It looks bigger in the picture than it actually is I bought it for my grandchilds 6th birthday and she likes it OK but I could have gotten her something much better for the price. It was easy to put together and it would be really fun for a 3 or 4 yr old.So bottom line is it's great for a 3 or 4 yr old. Not big enough for all of the kids that they show in the picture. It is pretty sturdy and not hard to put together. So far it looks like it will hold up well however we have only had it a month and it has not been used much. Summer is here and the kids will be using it more so we will find out then. It does add a more "kids playground" look to my backyard and I'm fine with that.

Great for a wide range of ages!

I bought a dome climber to match our Lifetime swing set. My grandchildren are ages 8 and younger. All the children 2 and older are loving this dome. They come up with creative ways to play, and it is fun to put a tarp or blanket over it and make a castle, clubhouse, etc. (I plan to get the Lifetime cover as well.) I worried the little ones would fall through and hurt themselves, but it seems to be engineered so that those who can climb high are strong enough to hold on and swing down, while those I would worry about are not quite able to climb high enough to be in danger. The instructions were very clear--it probably would have taken one helpful son-in-law 1 1/2 to 2 hours to put it together alone, but it took 3 hours with his team of very young "helpers." It is easy to move. Of course, it looks great and is very sturdy and well made, like all Lifetime products I have tried. No nicks or chips--it is just a fine product.

The kids love it!!!!!

I would definitely recommend this climber. It is very sturdy and the price is extremely reasonable. The grandchildren, ages 3-11 are having a great time on it. They use it for climbing, doing tricks and they even make a tent by throwing a tarp over it. One evening after dark, they had movie night in the tent after their dad rigged up the TV screen and put rope lights around the top. Add blankets, pillows, popcorn and it made for a very cozy night "under the stars."

Love the climbing dome; instructions are difficult

We bought this for our grandchild's yard and think it will be wonderful and very sturdy. We bought it cheaper than Amazon as a WalMart special for Xmas 2012 with free pickup at the store. FYI, the box is heavy so you would need help to get it into and out of your car, but the box dimensions are 40 inches long x 24 inches wide x 7 inches deep, so the box should fit in any backseat. When completed, one person can stand inside and move the dome several yards for mowing, etc. The first problem with the instruction book is that our pale metallic brown and dark green rods (Earthtones) were diagrammed as dark and light respectively, which was confusing. Second, the initial step is to make 5 separate units, but the book said to make one Unit and then "repeat 5 times". The book also labeled one crucial joint with the wrong code. Third, about tools. The instructions say that assembly requires a hex (Allen) wrench and a socket wrench with a 1/2" socket. That is wrong. In the early stages of the assembly, a standard socket is not deep enough to tighten the first nut that you put on the long bolts. That first nut does not require a socket wrench and can be tightened using a regular wrench. So for the first nut you need either a deep socket or a standard wrench. However, when you put the handles on the ends of the bolts at the last step of the assembly, you do need a socket wrench. For that, a regular socket is sufficient, but of course a deep socket can handle it, too. So what you need for assembly are the following: (1) a hex (Allen) wrench (2) either (A) a deep 1/2" socket wrench or (B) both of the following (i) a regular 1/2" socket wrench and (ii) any one of the following: (a) a 1/2" box wrench (b) a 1/2" open-end wrench (c) an adjustable (Crescent) wrench Only one person was needed initially to open the box, take inventory (which included one extra knob and one extra set of bolt, washers, and nut), lay out the 5 initial units and assemble them, about a half hour. Thereafter a second person was vital to hold the units up in place for assembly around the dome. We had 3 adults, with the third person giving out the needed parts and reminding the assembler of the order to place the rods on the bolts. We had a large level area for assembly, and took almost 3 hours from starting to open the carton to gathering the waste at the end. We followed the advice of another reviewer not to tighten any joints by tool until the assembly was on the last steps, since inevitably some joints have to be corrected, and a number of the joints have to be unscrewed for more rods to be added as the assembly progresses. The metal rods will not be a problem in summer heat, the reviewers said, but the rods felt cold at freezing temperatures. We are very pleased (5 stars) with the product overall and anticipate a lot of interest. The family already has a parachute that will be fun to put over it. But the assembly problems took off one star in expectations. Since you are now forewarned, I urge you to get this product!

Great quality but took 3 people to assemble it

We ordered this for our son's 3rd birthday. Unfortunately he will have to be a bit taller before he can get up on to it. The good side of that is that he is not going to outgrow it any time soon. It seems very sturdy and our 11-year-old daughter and her friends have climbed all over it. It wasn't too hard to put together but the instructions say it can be assembled by 2 adults; we found it took 2 people to hold the pieces in place while a third person added more pieces. So plan on at least 3 adults working for a couple of hours to get it all together.
