This is my second Tempurpedic mattress. The first was the old DeluxeBed model, a medium firm mattress that was about a 6.0 on the firmness scale. It took a while to soften up and the unused side was still as hard as a rock after 12 years but it was great for alleviating lower back pain. My arthritis in the hip has worsened with time and age so I selected the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid with a 4.5 rating as a replacement mattress for more pressure relief. I was told it is their most popular model, especially among women, and the three year old floor model was not overly soft. My new mattress took no time to break in but after three weeks of use, it seems a little mushy. I weigh about 200 pounds and am a side sleeper. I will try it for a couple more months but am concerned that the Medium Hybrid might be too soft for me.

This is hands down the most incredible mattress I've ever slept on. It's fantastic for both side sleepers and back sleepers. The mattress is firm/supportive for your spine, however, the memory foam ensures that the surface is soft. It's definitely worth the price!

I had a deeper and longer sleep on this brand new Tempur-ProAdapt Soft mattress. I love this mattress and I look forward to sleeping in that mattress every night. I am 66 years old and go to bathroom less because of better sleep in this new soft mattress! It is well made with soft padding on the top. So I am very happy with it after I did some research including on warehouse website for mattresses. The only disadvantage is the when I sit on the edge because it is soft padding on top but that is no problem for me.

I find the mattress very comfortable for my shoulders and hips. The mattress slowly conforms to your body shape once you lay on it. Unfortunately, I still find the mattress to be warm. After a few hours of sleeping, I find that I need to kick off my covers due to the build up of heat in the bed. So much for a good night of sleep. I was hoping the cover of the ProAdapt they advertise so well as being cooling would be enough to keep me cool throughout the night but I did not find that to be the case. This is a good mattress is you want a soft bed but you get warm, this is not the bed for you.

I had bought inexpensive mattresses and they were too soft, or too firm, or had springs right in my ribs. I could not believe the difference the TempurPedic made. I was skeptical spending so much, but this could be the best purchase I've ever made.. seriously I sleep with no pain, and wake up refreshed and ready to go. I would encourage anyone to test out the style they like and make the investment.

The mattress felt very firm from the start. It is not softening nearly as much as I want - it's still not like the showroom mattress or the two different soft tempur pedic mattresses I've slept on in the past. I'm 3 1/2 weeks in to the 'break in' period and I hope it improves soon. I'm disappointed - I was really looking forward to a great experience.

(Keep in mind we are only in our 30's and active) We decided to order a Tempur-Pedic mattress sight unseen from their website based on some quick research and couldn't be happier. The mattress is perfect and we are thinking about getting them for our kids as well. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, restful nights sleep!

I used this mattress for 7 months before exchanging it. I think it is a high quality mattress which just happened to not be the best choice for me; I have exchanged it for another Tempurpedic model. For reference, I am male, 5'10", 175 lb and sleep on my side. I chose the ProAdapt Soft because it felt very comfortable at the store. My old mattress had made my shoulders sore and I wanted that to stop. Pros: 1. Once broken in, I felt no pressure on my shoulders or hips. 2. Mattress sleeps cool when you get to bed and as you fall asleep, even in the summer. 3. It was comfortable to sleep or sit on the edge of this mattress, even at the corners. I never felt I would fall off. 4. It felt well made. Cons. A. It took long for the mattress to break in and feel truly comfortable. About 3 months. B. What initially was a niggling sensation on my side, towards my hip, because full-blown soreness after 4 months or so. I later realized that my hips were sinking in too much. This is why I had the mattress exchanged. C. In summer, the mattress got very warm (but not quite hot) after several hours. When I woke up in the middle of the night or in the morning, I felt very warm. I would advise buyers of this mattress to: - If buying at a store, try it not just for comfort, but also alignment. Go with a friend and even take pictures if you can to assess how straight your spine is. - If buying at a store, make sure the return policy is good. - If you are a hot sleeper, this mattress may not be a good choice. It is initially cool but gets warm later. I will recommend this mattress because I think it will work for some people, perhaps those much lighter in weight than I am.

Usually it takes time to break in a mattress but the first night on our Pro-Adapt medium hybrid was the best sleep we have had in many years. Probably hands down the best mattress we have owned and our first Tempur-Pedic. Restful sleep and didn't wake up with our joints sore.

I now have a smile on my face each night as I lie down to sleep. I needed a firm mattress but a mattress with some give that would not give out. In the morning the head of the bed is always elevated a bit, proving that it had raised itself in response to snoring. The massage features and synching of music with the massage are frazzle-dazzle features, but the main thing for me is the "intelligence" of the mattress and the value of the SleepTracker app, which has gotten me serious for the first time about understanding my sleep patterns, sleeping longer, and sleeping more efficiently. I think I've been sleep-deprived for over 50 years.
