12 X 10 Barrington Gazebo. Loving it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased and assembled our gazebo this past summer and used it many times rain or shine. It was not difficult to assemble. The directions were clear and detailed. We have received many compliments on its appearance from our friends and neighbors. We are very pleased with the price compared to hiring someone to build one from scratch. We highly recommend this kit.

Purchased w/assembly

Once we finally got through the rough patch of getting my service rescheduled after a rainy day. Purchased Feb 2023, assembled April 2023. The technician was very detailed and professional. The dynamic dual (2) technicians finished my gazebo assembly in rapid time. I am very pleased with the outcome. This was a tedious job that I could not have done myself. Please be patient and trust the process. I love the look of my backyard with our new Gazebo.

Concise instructions.

Instructions were very informative, recommend, reading thru all steps and understanding each will facilitate the assembly. Parts fit nicely together. Had a part damaged in shipping, but called the 800 number and they had the part shipped out that day. Very Happy with purchase. Now I will be tackling Backyard Discovery's Swing set for my grandchildren. You make great products. Thank You (by the way this way the second Gazabo I have purchased and the third one I have Built).

Looks great, solid structure

Wanted a sturdy gazebo (after yrs of dealing with the canvas top type & having to worry about the weather demolishing it) This was a great choice-from the excellent delivery service, well packaged cartons (not one piece was damaged, none missing), fairly clear directions, to the finished, assembled structure. Husband (66 yrs old) assembled by himself with 3 'youngins' helping to raise the roof (all exactly as was suggested in company description). Beautiful solid gazebo-met our expectations & hoping it holds up to the weather

Quality product

Despite shipping delays this is a great gazebo. We did the installation ourselves if your handy and have the correct rooms it isn't so bad follow the instructions that were very clear and you will be fine however it did take me and my husband about 4 days to complete we worked on it a little at a time. The roof most definitely needs 3 to 4 people. But once it was done I'm completely satisfied with it tons of compliments also the power port is a well added bonus.

Sturdy but challenging to assemble

Gazebo is very Saturday and looks great. The only downside is the assembly. The roof is a pain, you need at least two people preferably 3. The panels that go through the seams and the trump around the top is painstaking. The screws are self tapping and you have to penetrate the steel roof to attach. The roof is a collection of 6 panels each probably weighing close to 125 lbs each. It would be much easier if the company split the roof into smaller sections that would allow one person to install. Also, as a tip, when putting the roof on use the two clamps provided to clamp in place to hold panels prior to connecting with bolts. Finally, the instructions were a bit unclear regarding the t nuts and the top frame.

Buy it!

My partner and I built this gazebo and get many compliments on it! We love this gazebo! The first two days my partner sat under it for 15 hours. The instructions were pretty straight forward and the app helped a ton! I don’t know what we hesitated two years before making this purchase!

Well made!

Bought it last summer. My 40 year old son and I put it together. Would be easier for 3 or even 4 people but my son and I are resourceful! We put lights on it and I constructed a bar on the side facing our above ground pool. All the pieces fit together just as in the instructions. For the money, I felt this was super nice! Just got married and I plan to put one in the back yard of my wife’s home which we plan to keep. Be aware, this is cedar wood construction and there is nothing flimsy about it! Just a foot note; one of the corner braces had a bad chip on arrival and a replacement came super quick, no questions asked.

Just what we needed in shade and wind resistance.

68 year old couple with right tools and meticulous attention to the instructions completed construction of our 14X12 gazebo in 15 hours working time. Print and internet directions were both helpful. 900 lb project came in 6 boxes, so tip the delivery guys extra to place the boxes close to the construction site! We only had one significant boo boo that required retracing a step to correct (and a few mild swear words helped). I am amazed how square the gazebo was during construction; this is paramount in achieving a good result for all the components to fit together. Highly recommend two cordless drills/drivers, two ladders, and good neighbors to help the two times we needed to lift panels of the roof onto the frame. We never ran out of pieces/parts as most bags were overfilled with components, however this led to sometimes wondering if we missed a step. Overall, a good experience and great result. Although, peeling the protective plastic film from the trim pieces was a pain and took a full hour to achieve. We also spent an hour inventorying everything due to wife's accounting background (and found everything was present). I highly recommend this company and this particular project.

Strong good looking Gazebo

I just finished assembling this gazebo last weekend. I agree with the other points people have said in these reviews. The 10hr assembly is definitely not realistic unless you have two people experienced with this particular gazebo. I'm 53yrs and it took me 22hrs.. Plus another 6hrs combined from another person who helped me the 1st day and 2 more for about an hour to get the roof panels in place. Biggest advice... Pick the bilt app Or the written directions (they are slightly different) and follow it carefully! Once the roof panels are in place and secured by the 1st bolts it's easy to get ahead of yourself seeing what comes next and not look closely at directions. I was missing one piece from one of the 10ft "A" frame pieces (which backyard discovery shipped me 2day express with no problem or hassle) So we put up the other 3 roof panels and secured them. When we finally put 4th and final roof panel in to place I ended up having to loosen almost all the bolts to the other panels and nudge over panels to get all the holes to align... The manuals clearly say do not tighten until they are all in place and bolts started. So again.. It's easy to get ahead of yourself, don't skip something thinking you can come back to it, it's in that order for a reason. Also.. Pay attention to when you have to drill pilot holes! The pieces come with probably 95% of the pilot holes already there for you, but then the instructions will say fasten such and such drilling a pilot hole.. And if you read over it quickly you can think the pilot hole is already there.. Happened to me and wood started to split so backed out thinking I was using wrong screw,... Looked at instructions more carefully, and was like oh... I was supposed to drill pilot hole. Other than that it was pretty straight forward, a couple of the wooden roof cross pieces were warped making holes kind of a pain to align but nothing too bad. I definitely recommend taking the 2-3 hrs before you start and unboxing everything and sorting it, put bags of screws /bolts and washers in numerical order so they're easy to find, and be careful tearing open the bags, don't destroy the markings on the bag identifying what part# they are.. Some washers you'll use a lot of.. Then come back to them hours later and need more of the same part #. Raising the roof panels instead of putting a person on ladder in the middle we had person stand on ground, they used a 2x4 about 6 feet long as a pole to help guide peak of roof panel in place under roof cap, just had to remind them don't put 2x4 against sheet metal roof... Keep it on one of the cross wood frame pieces, it worked well. Bolted all together and tightened down its a very strong structure. It should last a long time and withstand the changes in weather here in Wisconsin and occasional heavy snowfalls.
