I bought this 16x12 Barrington for its style and guarantees with the wind and weight load. Most gazebos, I noticed my research, are only rated for half the wind and weight load of this one. It came palletized in six boxes. You need a large area to spread everything out to make sense of the parts. There were two pieces of wood that were damaged in the box, but the company immediately replaced same within a couple days without a problem. I did need two other people to attach the legs to the framework and again to install the roof panels. The 16-ft roof panels were a challenge to install because of their weight and awkwardness of its size. I did need a little help with the rubber mallet and wood clamps for this step. I did find it weird that you install the drip edge over the roof and not under. The rain does go down under the drip edge, over the cedar fascia, and onto the deck. I don't know how long this wood will last before rotting. They should figure out a different way to finish the roof with the water being diverted in a different way. Also, when I had the paver patio installed I gave the contractor the measurements to wear each post was going to be located. He then poured a concrete footing under the pavers and those pavers are also embedded in the concrete. I used 5-in concrete anchor screws to lock down the posts.

I’m glad I purchased this gazebo. It was tedious to put all of the parts together and I only had problems with a few parts. I had to really clean the pre drilled holes in the posts. The first few times I tried to put the bolts and nuts through, I kept catching some residual saw dust. I only had problems with the posts though. I did like that an app was available to look at the pictures a little better. The app and paper directions do not match completely. I primarily used the paper copy. I watched several videos on cedar gazebos like this one and I did not appreciate the difference between the Backyard Discovery Gazebo and the Yardistry Gazebo until I put the roof on with help. Backyard Discovery uses a frame to attach the roof panels to and the videos for other cedar gazebos do not have a frame. The benefit is evident when placing the roof panels. We put up one at a time instead of trying to hold up three panels before bolting them together. It came together so much easier than the videos. I purchased the Backyard Discovery Gazebo because of the look and the anchor plates. We get a lot of wind in my back yard sometimes and I didn’t want to worry about it during a wind storm. I wanted to use the biggest concrete anchors that would fit in the pre drilled holes. The wind ratings and snow loads were higher than other products. I’m very happy with how it turned out. I only finished it two weeks ago. I’m not going to disclose how long it took me to put together because I was doing it by myself for the most part except for installing the beams between the posts and the roof. It seems very solid and it is attractive which are my main concerns.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love spending time in the backyard, and my husband enjoys grilling year round. We had this product in mind when we had the concrete slab poured. Plans include eventually adding a hot tub. It has created a new space the whole family can enjoy. You definitely need at least 2 people to build it over several days. We had 4 at some points to keep things moving.

Our new gazebo has turned out to be the perfect gathering spot for coffee in the morning, pizza or barbecue on the weekends, or just for hanging out and enjoying our garden. Adding a few amenities to the already perfect and beautiful gazebo has made it even more enjoyable. We added shades to block the sunlight, string lights to light up the evenings, a speaker to listen to music, a hammock to nap, a fan with a light, a thermometer, and a bottle opener. Our desert oasis sits on top of decorative patio pavers. It was a great purchase and a wonderful addition to our back yard.

It took us a few days to put together and I am not handy at all. I was concerned about sturdiness but once it’s complete, it’s solid! I love the look of it. I would highly recommend this gazebo! All the parts were in the boxes, make sure you pre-drill the holes like it says in the instructions. Great product. Please make a mosquito net and sun screen for it Backyard!

So far we love it. No issues whatsoever. The installation portion took me a little longer than expected, and certain parts of the process definitely require 2, or even 3, people but its all very doable. All of the parts/pieces seem to be good quality, and the instructions are mostly pretty easy to understand.

Last weekend I lost my beautiful Backyard Discovery to a falling tree. I only had it 2 years and I am heartbroken. Couldn't believe this gazebo took the brunt force of a large tree yet it remained standing and prevented any major damage to my deck. And more importantly no one was injured. I will be replacing it with the same gazebo. I would never buy anything besides Backyard Discovery.

I bought this to add to my deck expansion. With the help of my sons. We got it assembled. Took longer than expected, but had limited time where my sons could come over & help. Instructions were very detailed. Only issue was a couple of the posts had holes drilled in wrong place for the corner brackets & had to drill new holes and it wasn't easy taking the plastic wrap off the metal parts. That's the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. We are loving the new gazebo.

We purchased this gazebo a few months ago and we are very happy with it. Everything was included that we needed to erect it. The lumber was pre-cut to the correct dimensions and the holes were all pre-drilled. Our sons helped us build it on a Saturday and we were finished by mid-afternoon. The only thing we didn't realize until after we purchased it was that we were strongly encouraged to apply a sealer to all the lumber before erecting it. While that required a little extra prep time, we're glad we did it. Other than that, everything was as we expected.

Wow. Great Buy. Would rarely go out to our backyard as the Florida weather can be brutal. But now that we have our new Gazebo, it is a pleasure. We enjoy sitting outside while having our morning coffee. My husband assembled it and then his brother and our son-in-law finished the final stage.
