Trouble starting generator

Recently purchased GP2500 generator. Add the oil and fuel as stated in start up guide. The generator fired right up and used it for about 20 minutes running an electric trimmer. Stored it in my shop for month. I got it out last week added fuel. Now it won't start, checked the oil level. Still won't start up. Do you have any things to try before I find an authorized dealer that does repairs.

Excellent portable generator

After months of extensive research, I chose the Generac IQ3500 as a home back power source. All of the pre-work paid off. This unit is very well built, runs extremely well, and is unbelievably quiet. Could not be more pleased with this generator. Well done Generac.

Bought this generator after storm hit central Wisconsin in mid July. I ran the generator for 6 days straight keeping my freezer, refrigerator and some lights, until the power came back on.I am very impressed how quiet it ran ,and without any problems .Good product.!

The GP 3000i is super quiet and is a Smooth Runner

I just purchased my GP 3000i unit and it is great! I added the supplied oil, filled with 91 (no ethanol), turned the selector switch to Run, and honestly, the first pull started this little beauty. I ran it for 7 hours powering my fifth wheel (50-amp plug converted) and it ran flawlessly. When you turn the selector switch to OFF, it takes a minute or two to run the gas out of the line to shut it down, so don't panic, the switch does indeed work to shut it off. Thank you, Generac.

Worst Inverter generator ever

A total waste of money. Started generator every 3 months for first year. Let it run. All good. Needed to use it and would not work at all. Could not generate any power. Took it for service (of course out of warranty)come to find out the electronic board that processes that power was shot. received an estimate of $400 to repair my $700 generator that was like new. Generac rep said they had issues, but unfortunately my unit was out of warranty, To Bad. Wont be ever be buying a Generac Inverter Generator. When I get the money, I will be looking at Honda. Total waste of $700+, plus not having a unit when my power went out.

More quiet than i imagined

Nice size, unbelievably quiet. I have a Genrac Home Standby generator and have had great luck with it so hoping for the same with the portable. I wish 'RV Ready' meant it had a 30A RV plug instead of 30LR5 Twistlock or at least make it an option to eliminate the need for an adapter. Wish there was a wheel kit, cover, & other accessories available for this unit.

Very adequate as a home backup

I purchased two 3000i generators as emergency backup power for my home and my daughter's home. I wanted to run emergency power for two refrigerators, one freezer and outlets in my office for tv, computer, usb charging and minimal led lighting. I hired an electrician to install a sub-panel and inlet for the generator to handle the 4 circuits I wanted to use. I checked the power needs for all the appliances. Since it weighs 60lbs I bought a cart for it and it is very easy to move from the garage to the outdoor sub-panel. All I have to do when the power goes out is to turn off a 50 amp breaker in the main and sub panels, turn on a 30 amp breaker in the sub-panel, plug in the generator and turn on each of the four circuits one at a time to make sure there is no overload. We tested the generator over a period of an hour with all four circuits on. It worked great and surged only slightly when one or more of the appliances cycled. The cost for parts and labor from the electrician was about $1000.00. I strongly recommend a professional installation. You can have serious problems if not installed correctly. It is comforting to know that our families food supply is protected and our communications equipment will function during a blackout. To accomplish all this the generator would only need to run 4 hours a day when the monitors on the appliances show a need to cycle. At a 50% load that is only 1 gallon of fuel per day. Communications equip. would be used in that 4 hour window. I found the build quality excellent. The only change I would make is to make the oil access door bigger and smooth the edges of the opening. It is difficult to get a big hand in and remove the oil fill/check plug. It started first pull and ran very smooth and quiet.

Great Unit!

I wanted a quiet unit that would power several items while doing BBQ competitions and events. I am very happy about how quiet this unit is and it has more than enough power to run all my equipment. I was also pleased on how easy the pull start was on this unit. I would gladly recommend a GP3000i to anyone looking for an inverter generator.

Ready When We Need It!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to receive the Generac Dual Fuel Portable Generator as a gift from Influenster for review, and while we haven’t needed to put it to the test yet (thankfully, no power outages!), I can already tell this is a game-changer for our home. From the moment it arrived, I was impressed. The generator feels incredibly well-built — solid, durable, and thoughtfully designed. The dual fuel capability was one of the first features that caught my attention; being able to choose between gasoline and propane adds so much flexibility and peace of mind, especially during emergencies when fuel availability can be unpredictable. Setting it up was straightforward. The instructions were clear, and the controls are easy to understand, even for someone who isn’t super experienced with generators. I also love that it comes with a mobility kit, making it much easier to move into place if and when we need it. While we haven’t had the chance to run it yet, just knowing we have a reliable, high-powered backup ready to go is a huge comfort. I truly appreciate that Influenster gave us the opportunity to be ready for whatever comes our way. Can’t wait to update this review once we officially put the Generac to work — but for now, it’s getting five stars just for the quality, design, and peace of mind it brings.
