Frustrating

Was caught in loop on form 1065. The 5 members of the LLC are all personal trusts. Until I designated them as individuals, T Tax would not E-File. I had no way to test if this would work without pressing the red File Tax button. Every time that I tried to log in at the help community, it took me to the Turbo Tax products screens, with no access to help. I "solved" this T Tax problem with Windows Explorer AI. I've been using T Tax since the 1970s, I'm disappointed.

Tax matters parter and retired CPA

When completing the information for RP, I selected the partner that was a Trust on the K1 input sheet, however, since this entity was not an individual while trying to efile, the system required that I enter individual information that representeds the entity. Unfortunately, the turbo tax system was caught in a loop telling me to enter individual informatin, then instructing me to delete the individual information. The instructions to fix this were at best very weak. I figured out a fix. big waste of my time.

Turbo and Intuit have lost their way

Product not integrated with QB Online, which Intuit forced me to get since they no longer offer QB desktop. I could not import accounting records from QB online, so had to input accounting informations manually. Terrible!!! Integration between Turbo Tax and Quickbooks was a given and made their products user friendly. No they are the opposite. Their support is also terrible. Looking for alternatives.

1st time TurboTax Business (for a Trust)

I've used regular TTax for over 20 years. This is the first of TurboTax Business (for a family trust). Given the complexity of a trust, and my lack of experience, I still found it to be relatively easy. Especially liked automatic prep of K-1 with cover letter...as PDF's OR print.

same glitches every year

Automatically fills forms that I don't need and I have to do research before I delete. Doesn't understand that I can have retirement accounts other than a SEP-IRA and doesn't do calculations for any other type of plan. This year, if you click in the search box to find a specific part in step by step process to solve a problem, it does give you a link that says it will take you there- but so far none of the links work or do anything, which means the Search function is officially dead in the water. I don't know how they find the time to make it worse every year. I'm grateful I'm experienced enough to understand to manage the glitches and problems in this software. As frustrating as it is, it's still better than the competition for now.

TT Business: forgotten stepchild

TT Business is the forgotten stepchild. While the individual product is excellent, the business does not allow importing of tax forms. The Colorado state business form is worthless and doesn't even allow e-filing. The instructions are poor and suggest you look at websites for tax information.

Fix it or I'm gone

The Business edition needs some serious love from Intuit. QuickBooks import obscures critical account information (parent accounts) making it hard to categorize income and expenses. There is no way to show a summary of imported data once you pass the import step...why? Balancing M-1 and M-2 is a pain every year due to duplicate or missing Section 179 imports vs. computed amounts. There are at least a half dozen new UI and program bugs every year. One new one this year is prior year income is off by a factor of 10. State programs are barely more than the form itself, and buggy too. VA form 502 Section I computes resident income without applying state apportionment, resulting in thousands of $$ of additional taxes. I've call support, provided detailed feedback like this, and still the errors persist year after year. I've stuck with TurboTax until now because of the convenience of QB import, but next year I'm trying something different.

TurboTax support / help is poor

Explanations of some of the required entries was poor. If choosing to use Intuit help, getting an answer was cumbersome or nonexistent without paying for extra service. I chose to use an AI tool and received step-by-step instructions. Intuit needs to update TurboTax to benefit those that pay for the software without added charges.

Good Product But a Few Hiccups

I've been using TurboTax for my S‑Corp business tax returns and while it does cover the basics, I’ve run into a few issues that made the process more stressful than expected. For example, when trying to amend my 2023 business return, I had to dig deep to figure out which duplicate expense was throwing my numbers off. Then, when I logged into TurboTax Online, there was no clear way to retrieve my old filing—the support said I needed the .tax2023 file, which wasn’t easily accessible, forcing me to jump through hoops just to amend a return. On top of that, the software started prompting me for Form 7203 information, and the instructions for each line (like what to enter for nondeductible expenses or how to handle my shareholder stock basis) were not as straightforward as I would have liked. Even the state return portion added confusion: I had to decipher whether to check Form 502 or Form 502 PTET for my S‑Corp. Overall, TurboTax gets the job done for simpler returns, but when you have a complex S‑Corp scenario with amendments, basis calculations, and state return quirks, the experience becomes cumbersome. I wish the interface was more intuitive for business filers and that it provided easier access to prior-year files. If you’re running a straightforward return, it might work well; but if your tax situation is more complex, be prepared for extra legwork.

Turbo Tax Business Needs Work

I rated this product 3 stars because the Quickbooks integration did not work and, therefore, I had to type everything manually. Additionally, there were several places I had to manually override cells in the State returns as the step-by-step guide did not provide the appropriate result. Finally, there no Mac OS version of this software.
