I was happy to see this umbrella on Sam's site at a good price compared to other vendors. Love the color of the canopy (cast shale) and the bronze poles, a close match to our other umbrella (from another vendor) and seat cushions. The only drawback, so far, is the connection between the two poles. It's not a pop-up button, but a screw design. I've noticed that with some wind (when the umbrella is open) and even just opening or closing the umbrella, the screw connection is not tight and loosens easily.

Bought this to replace our 4 year old model that was destroyed in a severe storm last year. Unlike older models that used the traditional method of connecting the bottom pole to the top, i.e, about 3 inches of the bottom pole slipped into the top part and was secured with to push button, this model has the bottom pole screw into the top with about 1 inch of thread. The result is that even in a light variable breeze the two sections begin to become unscrewed and require regular attention to retighten the parts together. If the wind picks up to 10MPH it becomes even worse, you can see the top part begin to rock against the bottom right at the joint. Given that the poles are soft aluminium this causes stress on the threads themselves. Even when the umbrella is in the down position this happens. It's just a matter of time before that connection fails. Whoever thought this was a good idea is an idiot. Would not recommend.

Great umbrella, but you have to be diligent about taking it down if it's gets too windy. luckily the lower section of the pole is replaceable if it does happen to bend. Just reach out to the manufacturer. They will last a long time if you take care of them. Much better quality than the cheaper umbrellas.

Bought two of these in August 2024. Within the past two weeks both failed because they have a cheap plastic wheel that guides the rope that opens up the umbrella. The weight from opening and closing seems to have bent the plastic part so the rope slipped off (both umbrellas), got stuck inside and is unfixable. Believe me, we tried!

So far, I’m very happy with this umbrella. It cranks really nicely and is sturdy. The ties attached to it for securing it while closed are a nice detail. The red is a pretty color.

I bought these in 2025 for $59/ea. They're now $159/ea. They're also constantly sold out. I need to order several umbrellas, but they never have these in stock. Given the price now, I'll have to look elsewhere.

DO NOT BUY THIS UMBRELLA! We used it 3 summers, stored it inside 9 months of the year, %26 the frame broke. Even though it clearly states the frame is warranted for 3 years, Sam's Club in St Charles MO refused to take it back. We had the receipt, it was under the 3 year time frame. Very disappointed!! It should last longer than 3 summers %26 Sam's should stand behind the stated warranty.
