This is a good product overall, but I was expected more from it because this is my favorite brand. I could tell it worked excellent with my fabric softener but the fragrance was lacking for me because my laundry soap overpowered it. I would buy this item if it was on sale but not at its regular price. The clothes did stay fresh as well, even after wearing them. *I tested this product for free but all opinions are my own*

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to try Downy Fresh Protect Active Fresh In-Wash Odor Shield because it sounded like a great product, and while I liked that I could still use my normal detergent for my HE washer and throw this in to give a boost of fresh scent, I realized very quickly that this is not an ideal product for a front load washer. The packet of little scented pebbles smells wonderful, so I enthusiastically threw them in with a load of dark clothes. However, as soon as I turned my washer on, the pebbles migrated to the front of the washer and got stuck in the seal where the water drains. Hardly any of them actually stayed with my clothes for the entire cycle. I won't be trying this particular item again only because of the type of washer I have. If you have a top-load washer, this would work well for you.

I can't believe how clean and fresh this product smells without being overpowering! I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I used this today on my activewear, and it came out of the wash smelling fresh and clean! I will definitely purchase this product in the future.

This product did a great job of freshening up my clothes. After a long hot weekend of performing in a musical, my clothes were in need of freshening up. They came out of the washer and dryer smelling wonderfully fresh. The scent is really nice and laundry fresh, but if you were wearing out, other people might be able to smell it too if you're sitting close (not a bad thing), but it may not mix with some perfumes. I can see this being super useful with sports uniforms and dance outfits!

It smells up their room when I put their clean laundry away. Will definitely be recommending and purchasing this product!!

I love this product! The smell is fresh and stayed with my freshly new cleaned clothes for days after drying. I was confident in the brand because I have used several of their products before and this one didn't let me down. I will definitely buy this product again. This product is amazing, I recorded three packages for testing purposes and can't wait to purchase more! I had a certain pair of pants my boyfriend hates because of the fabric smell so I thought why not try these out on them?! Needless to say he was impressed, and I can keep wearing my favorite pants!

I washed my gym clothes with the odor shield and LOVE the result! I can go work out and leave without smelling like I worked out! If you are sensitive to strong scents, this one may not be your best bet, but I happen to really like how the beads smell. I tested the Downy Fresh Protect Beads for free, but all opinions are my own.

After a while of using the cheaper brands I had forgotten how fresh downy is. This lives up to that reputation and is so easy to use! Older machines that don't have a fabric softener dispenser would really benefit! I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review, but the opinion is all mine :)
