Honestly these beads were life changing. I normally don't add any extra products to my laundry load, but I think I'll start purchasing these, because they made my laundry load smell so good, even before I put them in the dryer with the dryer sheet. Downy Fresh Protect is a canister of tiny discs. You fill the cap to the desired level and toss the discs straight into the washer bin with your clothes. It's not messy like using a liquid is. It works with front and top loading machines, standard and high efficiency. I have used the Downy Fresh quite often, and I think the smell lasts longer than using fabric softener. Previously, my towels would always come out of the dryer smelling moldy despite completely cleaning my washer and immediately putting the load into the dryer. It smells wonderful after using these though. If you haven't tried them and you're looking for fresher smelling clothes, give this a try!

So when you hear a commercial mention a long-lasting scent, Downy Fresh Protect is exactly what I imagined. It has the most amazing smell, and it lasts for so long. I have been so pleased getting a whiff of that sweet fresh scent on a regular basis. I would recommend to anyone who loves good smelling laundry! This product is absolutely amazing!! I received a free sample to try, in exchange for my honest opinion. I could smell the wonderful scent as soon as I opened the box, there was no need to open the package. I used it in a load of towels, just sprinkled it in the bottom of the washer before adding the towels. I chose to try it in the towels because they are pretty old, and were getting a musty smell. I was amazed at how soft my towels came out, and the scent had gone from musty to really pleasant, and the scent lasted until we got around to using our towels! I have tried many other products and home remedies, but nothing compares to Downy! I will definitely be buying this product to use with every wash! Thanks Downy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Downy® Fresh Protect In-Wash Odor Shield a lightly scented detergent I had on hand. I wanted to see how well the Downy® Fresh Protect worked. I only used half of the scent bead packet because I wasn't sure if the scent would be too strong. Half the sample(about 1/4 cup) was the perfect amount to freshen a big load of dirty jeans and sweaty shirts. The Downy Fresh Protect definitely left our laundry fresh and clean. The scent seemed to last days after washing. I gave it three stars because I wasn't sure about the odor shield protection. I think it worked ok but the week I used it it was cool and rainy and my family didn't get a chance to test Downy Fresh Protect's full potential.

I wish the fresh smell could have lasted a little longer because I enjoy going to bed and smelling that fresh down smell! Not sure what the difference is but if the fresh smell lasted longer, I would use these more often

I really liked this product and how easy it is to use, the best part is that it left my clothes without any residue from the product, amazing! After trying out Downy Fresh Protect In-Wash Odor Shield, not only did the clothes smell great out of the wash, but they stayed smelling good as he wore them. This product is amazing, I recorded three packages for testing purposes and can't wait to purchase more! I had a certain pair of pants my boyfriend hates because of the fabric smell so I thought why not try these out on them?! Needless to say he was impressed, and I can keep wearing my favorite pants!
