As a first time user i was surprised at how much i liked the product. It has a wonderful smell to it, great for those summer time clothes. It can be over powering so used to your needs. Defiantly recommend this product if you want an extra sent boost to your clothing, but remember this is not a detergent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The scent is amazing.everyone is used to liquid,powder,or even pods for detergent but trying the downy beads really impressed me on washing my clothes.they left my clothes feeling soft looking great and a wonderful lingering scent.my neighbor actually walked over to ask because it smelled so good.give the downy beads a try they wont let you down.

I have used Downy in the past and LOVED it and then these scent beads came out and while I have used some before (different company) I was not too impressed. These make the clothes smell nice fresh from the wash and again from the dryer and they still smell like that even folded in the dresser drawer or hung in the closet for about a week maybe longer. you could even smell it when the kids came home from school and gave you the first hug that afternoon. these are also good for if you have a wax warmer add a few in the bowl and let them melt for a last minute freshness of the house such as for unexpected guests. I was given free samples from Influenster and agreed to review the samples on this site but even if I did not get them free I would have the same review! I depend on reviews when I am making decisions on new products and if i should buy them for my family or not.

I've always been a fan of Downy, and this product is no different. I threw these in-wash odor shield beads in with my laundry and noticed a wonderful difference right away. I live in New Orleans, where the climate is extremely hot and humid in the summer, so my clothes can get a little smelly, especially if I'm outside all day. This really helped my clothes smell fresh again and stay smelling fresh. I received a sample for reviewing purposes, but this review is completely honest. I'll be buying some more of this stuff soon!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that the product had a good smell. I used it on my bath towels which always seem to need it. I then put them in the closet with my other towels (that I had not used the product on) and I guess I can say that I have not noticed a difference between using the fresh protect and not using it.

Seriously, nothing else smells this good or works as well. They’re trying to replace it with one that smells like flowers… yuck. I’ve tried many other brands too and this is all I will use. Seriously, will just stop buying scent boosters. Boo Downy…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My most favorite item was the Downy Fresh Protect Active Fresh In Wash Odor Shield. Easy yo use just drop the beads in the beginning if your wash cycle. The beads are blue but no worries they totally disolve and does not leave any residue. I used it with whites so totally safe.. 😁The clothes came out smelling amazing and maintained its scent through the dry cycle. Definitely looking for this item in stores. #GotItFree. #bzzagent

I tryed out the Downy fresh protect with febreze in wash odor defense in the smell April fresh and I loved it. They totally keep your clothes smelling fresh and turns them really soft. I received mine for free for testing purposes from influenster and totally going to keep buying more.

I work out every day and my clothes smell pretty bad by the end of the week, which is why I've wanted to try this product. Regular detergent got my clothes clean, but they didn't have that fresh smell. The downy beads I threw in the washer and now whenever I go to put on clothes no matter how many days ago they have been washed, they still have that April fresh scent instead of smelling like sweat. I did get downy beads to try for free but the review is all my own.

My family has used Downy products for years, so when I received samples of the In-Wash Odor Shield, I wasn't very hesitant to try it. I was a little overwhelmed with how much was in the packet & how the directions said to use the whole thing with a load of laundry, so I made sure I had a seriously FULL load (shirts/socks/underwear/sweats, towels, bed sheets/pillowcases - anything that could carry a smell after use). I was impressed! Since my job requires a lot of moving around & comes with a lot of messes, I was glad this product took away ever odor & left a (rather potent) fragrance. Maybe it's just me & the fact that the scent wasn't my favorite, but it was a little strong for my liking, so based on that, I would suggest using less than the directions advise. Still, it was just the boost my laundry needed. Overall, it's a good buy. Do I think it's necessary? Not really, but I could see myself buying this every once in a while.
